    After i got the Taskbar in Metro to work i have no idea what my tweak really fixed because after neither 0 or 1 did matter.. really weird glitch.

    The activation of the Taskbar is beyond annoying too, it feels so random (each activation needs a different amount of mouse travel), how did they even pass testing, it's such a usability failure.

    In a recent leak by Wzor about the Windows RT 8.1 Update 1, he talks about these two updates Windows8.1-KB2938439-arm.msu, Windows8.1-KB2939087-arm.msu which he didn't earlier leaked for Windows 8.1 Update


    But in this thread the order of the Windows 8.1 Update 1 was like


    KB2919442 (Prerequisite Update 1)
    KB2939087 (Prerequisite Update 2)
    KB2919355 (Main Update)
    KB2932046 (Feature Pack 1)
    KB2937592 (Feature Pack 2)
    KB2938439 (Feature Pack 3)

    My Confusion is How come this KB2939087 (Prerequisite Update 2) became a Supplement Update in the case of Wzor Instruction.

    If I had to put money on it, I'd say yes; regular updates.
    I see no reason why they'd stop.

    I can confirm - no influence to "show taskbar in apps".

    And the registry key is not new in Update 1 / Spring update - it is also available in Windows 8.1 and even in Windows 8.

    Also the registry key name indicates that it has something to do with a tablet PC: "TabletTip" / "HideTipband"

    2939087 isn't quite a prerequisite if we come to think about it, it doesn't require even the first servicing stack update, as it does specify the usual 6.0.0.0 as installerAssembly.

    Slowly move the cursor to the edge of the screen that has the taskbar, then move it quickly in the same direction; seems to work every time for me. Show Windows Store apps on the taskbar needs enabled from Taskbar and Navigation properties also for that to work.

    Can't say I really find it too useful though... I don't use any Modern UI apps :p

    I updated my Surface rt successfull. When closing an app I get always the desktop instead of the start screen. I reviewed the navigation options in the taskabar settings. Seems ok. Any suggestions?

    KB2939087 is not a mandatory or an explicit Prerequisite, it's just considered as Prerequisite to KB2919355 to avoid issue or something

    you may notice that KB2939087 is dated on 2014/03/04 but has only version number 16655
    whereas KB2919355 has ntfs.sys version number 17031 but it's dated on 2014/02/22

    so for me, i take 2939087 as recommended update before 2919355

    The updates are from different branches, and branches don't have to follow main gdr branch. Remember, that these two updates were only meant for dogfooding. This dogfood registry trick is a very old trick, used even back in Vista days. When used at the correct timeframe you can get many untested stuff via dogfood: today it's one version, tomorrow other (but only if the correct keys are known).

    the tutorial from #1 does not work with an all-in-one dvd with x86/x64

    *when using the "*" all command...

    it starts with no problems, but when the x64 images should be processed,
    the toolkit does not find the updates. but they are there in the x64 folder
