I have found this new update to windows works perfectly on my CQ57-439WM Compaq. I do warn how ever that does require the latest insyde bios from manufacturer website and you will have to google and install sp58720.exe wireless button driver manually since those are required and not windows included. In benchmarks its faster then both windows 7 and xp I have tested in past on same setup. Just sharing in case people like me with older machine worried on compatibility. This machine is stock from Compaq save maxed the ram to 8 gb.
Updated to Windows 8.1 Update 1 and all seems to be working fine. I am running Windows x86 version. The question I have is how do I get the Windows version to show on the Start screen? Thank you
