i get new updates on 8.1 update 1 today aswell ..... Update 8.1 KB2894853 , Update 8.1 KB2928680 , Malicious Software removal tool (KB890830) , IE Flash player (KB 2938527) and a few others defender & Silverlight
I have a couple question which I didn't see answered in any of the recent pages. 1. Will there be a full ISO out for Windows 8.1 Update 1? 2. The update consists of 4 updates and 2 optional updates: KB2919442 KB2919355 KB2932046 KB2937592 KB2939087 (Optional) KB2938439 (Optional) What are the optional updates for?
i was hoping the latest updates would fix the taskbar issue with metro apps. the bar sometimes appears sometimes not.. seriously buggy. ive tried everything suggested in this forum to get the taskbar to appear consistently and it works for a while especially after a restart but then it fails again. i cant believe microsoft would issue a major update at RTM without fully testing one of its core features which is the taskbar in the modern app environment. That makes me wonder if this is really the final version of the spring update or just a beta. modern mix still works with a few issues though.
Same issue here... seems with Win8, there will never be a true "RTM" ... all dev. is ongoing.. in effect, we may in fact be on a beta 5 or something LOL .....hopefully Win9 will have a better dev. cycle
Installed the RTM Escrow to test out all the new changes and everything ran fine until I installed the latest patch Tuesday updates and kept getting a BSOD on boot. Had to restore my system and uninstalled the 8.1 Update 1 RTM Escrow package I had installed. Installed the Patch Tuesday updates and all is fine now. I only uninstalled the KB2919355 installation package and left the preparation packages. Will I run into any problems when the update is officially released or should I uninstall the preparation packages as well?
Regardless of what Neowin says, 17031 is final RTM. I will only believe when Microsoft says so and releases update with higher build number.
