This is a theme issue that can be easily fixed by adding a fill color property to Lists, Menus, & Tabs > Menu > PopUpBackground and making your PopUpItem opaque or by adding a new class to your existing theme called ImmersiveStart::Menu also add a new line to your ClassGroups.xml, <class displayName="Menu" name="Menu"/> and under that add a new line <class displayName="Immersive Start Menu" name="ImmersiveStart::Menu"/> Then in WSB add the fill color to Lists, Menus, & Tabs > Immersive Start Menu > PopUpBackground and add the necessary properties to Lists, Menus, & Tabs > Immersive Start Menu > PopUpItem. Open another instance of WSB and start a new theme and export the images and properties from there over to your existing theme.
Nothing we don't already know, except that TSYA seems to think we acted too soon on the release... He was just commenting on the pcbeta claiming that this build may not be final. IMO I'd rather have MS fix the release because of things we were able to test because of leaking early, than not fix them and have the entire world mad at Microsoft for releasing a buggy update. I don't see them fixing the cab portion of the update, but rather the method and WUSA portion to only allow the update to install if certain other updates are already present. Who knows tho... they could very well rework the entire thing. Like I said, I'd rather have them fix it than release junk to the public.
I suspect it is because the updates were pulled from the servers. While the updates were still up I was able to run the dism restore successfully on two Surface tablets. I later attempted to run it on a Desktop after the updates were pulled and got the same error as you. All machines had Update 1 applied.
I found bug in online help (F1) in file explorer of windows 8.1 update 1 Hebrew : the picture of file explorer is in Arabic.
Dear cutee, I clicked F1 in file explorer while online the pic which explains about the file explorer window is in English. I hope you meant the above one. IF not please explain. Regards, Manu
My question is: Does the leaked MSU packages contains previous updates ? So if I install Win 8.1 RTM and the MSU files do I have everything or I still need the "old" updates from WinUpdate ?
Is anyone else experiencing an automatic return to desktop even if the box is Unchecked? On my surface pro I prefer returning to my Start Menu when all apps are closed not to the desktop. It will only go to the Start screen when I log in. I tried even using only the touch without a mouse or attached keyboard and it still goes to desktop after close an app or all apps.
You need to uncheck the option to show running apps on the taskbar, then it will return you to the start screen (but it will also disable the minimize button and taskbar in store apps!)
Key points from what WZor said: 1. Build 17031 IS RTM. There won't be new build. This is what we all will receive through WU. 2. Why WZor leaked build 17031 only after guys on MDL found reg hack? WZor was waiting for 15th of March to leak, because 14th of March is the final day then M$ can make some changes to build. It seems, after RTM is compiled, M$ always tests this build for two weeks, before handling it to OEM. 14th of March is final day of these two week period. 3. When Spring Update will arrive through WU, there will be some QFE updates. 4. If there would be any changes, or 17031 wouldn't be RTM, WZor knew that before any Chinese source. P.S. And yes, WZor is waiting for the new ISOS.
Interesting but that makes sense when you explained it. I don't think this is quite clear to many users as the related checkboxes are on different tabs. Thank you very much for this enlightenment!!
I'm glad to hear this, I thought there was something wrong with my system, if the updates go online once more I'll try again
