I reckon Microsoft is copying the Android business model like releasing 3 or more editions of Jelly Bean like 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3
Just to mark it as installed in the Windows Update datastore. See, even though the binaries are same, metadata and provisioning for Windows Update is often changing (in most cases - just cosmetic change like the name of the update for the history list). You can read about quite a lot of such revisions, they are documented in KB894199 as "metadata changed, binaries not".
So , You guys who already installed this update. Any chance that it resolves the issue of windows 8.1 deleting thumbnail cache regularly ??
Installed them shortly after the Leak . Unfortunately no clue regarding your problem, as i refuse to work with that crappy Windows Explorer for a long time now. Never faced problems when using Total Commander here.
Some guy here on MDL mentioned that this update solves the issue of windows 8.1 deleting thumbnail cache regularly.
seems final beef is much bigger than the leaked versions ... lol can be expected as new isos on MSDN for VL versions
this is a new version, or what is the version already leaked ? This a version including QFE (Quick Fix engineering)?
Hmm, holds updates for RT systems likewise, but still really big indeed ... . @ EFA11 Whats the content of the Main KB folder?
I received today (windows 8.1 upadate 1) these updates form WU: KB2894853, KB2895219, KB2884846). What this mean? Thanks.
All Hotfixes released are labeled for SP1, likewise all Win7 hotfixes are labeled for SP2 it's just a naming or hotfixes mechanism of microsoft, nothing related to Update 1 or 2
Just posted this at neowin as well - This might be a dumb question - but is it possible that the updates that are delivered to OEMs are not "bundled" the same as the files that were leaked by WZOR? What I mean is, how do we know that what is inside of each of those folders is not an uncompressed version of the files that were leaked by WZOR and on Windows Update? This would be more convincing if we were looking at an actual MSU file for KB2919335 that was a different size than the leaked version.
