All Hotfixes released are labeled for SP1, likewise all Win7 hotfixes are labeled for SP2 it's just a naming or hotfixes mechanism of microsoft, nothing related to Update 1 or 2
Just posted this at neowin as well - This might be a dumb question - but is it possible that the updates that are delivered to OEMs are not "bundled" the same as the files that were leaked by WZOR? What I mean is, how do we know that what is inside of each of those folders is not an uncompressed version of the files that were leaked by WZOR and on Windows Update? This would be more convincing if we were looking at an actual MSU file for KB2919335 that was a different size than the leaked version.
Well then, maybe MS would follow the same mechanism and release RTM+Update1 like in the case of RTM+SP. Guess @EFA11's inbox is now flooded with "link requests", hope he would do that, and then we'll know.
This is what it contains. I have an idea though.
Hashes identical to leaked MSUs for KB2919355. Reason for extra "size" looks to be separate folders for Server MSU files.
The server MSUs listed above have the exact same hashes as the x64 Windows 8.1 MSUs. Would guess they just named them differently to help OEMs identify?
Nothing. It looks as though the MSU files going to OEMs are identical to those leaked by WZOR and through WU.
Can I get some cliff notes on this thread? I'd like to experience this "update" so I am downloading something posted by bav0- Windows8.1.1_RTM_MSU_x64_BAV0.rar. Are these (6?) final? Ive seen speak of having to install them in a specific order. Must I install all current WU provided updates and then install these that I am downloading?
The 6 updates are most likely final, you don't need to install any other updates before installing the ones in the download and the install order is included in the Read Me.txt file in the download.
big, bada, boom. requesting admin to put an (R) rating on all of efa11's posts extremely distracting avatar images
Has anyone summarized the useful changes these updates make to 8.1?? Understand wanting to get them for testing but will they provide any worthy changes?
Thanks much, BAVO! Bravo! It does look like the Metro interface is getting more useful but I would personally prefer it to simply disappear.
