Yeah many people have that issue. I am one of them, I had installed all the updates in the correct order on a clean Windows 8.1 installation. Freeze everytime for like 10 to 30 seconds. And my icons all appear white (there is no icon basically) I am not bothered about this buggy update anymore

Not always, but might be one main reason. As always after an Upgrade like this some Ring 0 software, i.e. AVs, drivers etc, might need an update. Using AVG IS 2014 here with absolutely no problems.
I'm not entirely sure it's related to the Spring update. There was recently a defender methodology update on Windows Update. When I had defender disabled, my system was behaving exactly as described... Long pauses while waiting for icons to process. It could be related. I'm not 100% I would personally recommend either using Windows Defender for the time being, or wait until after the Spring 2014 update is released and your internet security dev has time to catch up to the compatibility issues of the update.

Maybe this happen because the two additional update files. I don't sure about that. but this what I think.
Still interesting that some seek the responsibility only on MS side, not on the side of Software/Driver Vendors .
you know, I was thinking about this as well, and was wondering if these 2 additional files brought forth some unintended consequences for someone with the freezing problem, it would be nice if you could just install using the 4 files and see if that fixes it!
So let me get this right, out of the 6 files, the only 2 that does NOT necessarily need to be installed (and that might be causing some problems on peoples PC's) are KB2938439 and KB2937592?
