Yes drivers are installed and PC is rated, normal aero is transparent, but in WDP u could make aerolite transparent to.
try this: -open the 'Personalization' window TWICE (settings->personalization) -make sure you have the normal aero-theme enabled, not lite -click the 'Window Color' button in ONE of the personalization windows, the 'Window Color and Appearance' window should open -use the OTHER personalization window to switch to 'Windows Basic' theme -uncheck the transparency checkbox in the 'Window Color and Appearance' window you opened before, then check it again, select any color, press save.
Im not sure how I feel about it. Change is tough sometime when you are use to something for so long. It's a little quirky getting around the OS but I imagine time and perhaps some changes can help with that. One thing that could help is a little tutorial after installation. Some tips, hints, and showing of the new system. Show us upon installation the best way to get around to what we need to and what not. I would hope the include that in the final release. I really want to like it but im just not sure yet. The good news is that this is still in Beta. Any constructive criticism and opinions for improvement, Im sure MS will gladly take. This being new, at the moment, im not sure of what can really, really make this Metro/Desktop thing work together seamlessly or what they can change to make it work smoother. For non PC purposes (ie touch pads) this will be awesome. Like I said though, there's still plenty of time for improvement. I hope they can come up with some fixes/changes to make this work even better.
I have tried more options (clean formatted as NTFS from Paragon Boot ISO, clean format from within Windows8 setup advanced options, or delete the partition completely and lead to this error message). Any other idea?
What happened to the IE app? The IE I see in the Start screen takes you to the desktop version of IE. Wasnt there an IE Metro App? I know it didn't do flash but Id still like to see if its still there...
Anyone having issues with the Messaging app? It keeps disconnecting me randomly, and most of the time Facebook chat won't work in it...really annoying.
I have to say, there seemed to be a lot more activity prior to WCP's arrival on here than there is now. Maybe most people are just disappointed with it.....
Im sorry to say but alot of people saying they hate metro and we all know its here to stay and note these are the people crying for an leak not they say oh its bad im a uninstall just be happy with what you got and fyi alot of new phone and laptop are going to be touch what is everyone scared of change
agreed. microsoft dropped the ball this time as far as the general public having access to builds. had they let the leaks happen like with days b4 8, then more people would be accustomed to it by now, and also, more stuff would have been developed b4 dev preview. i understand why ms kept this stuff locked away, but at the same time i do not see why. double edge sword.
has anybody tried to change the start menu back to w7 with this .....geek.com/articles/geek-pick/how-to-get-a-windows-7-start-menu-in-windows-8-20110914 cant post link yet.......HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer Double-click on RPEnabled Change the value from 1 to (zero)
Yep first thing people want when they get win8CP is how we make it look and work like win7 And good for MS their making it so tablets has a nice OS that isnt a bigger verison of android or IOS just think if you tablet slate or whatever runs a good OS and remember this is ONLY beta and if you care so much send your feedback cause their not watching all these forum for pointers
Can somebody help me?,i cannot install CP. I tried from desktop and from bios but i get every time a black screen with the message :"We couldn't install Windows 8 Consumer Preview - Where not sure what happened, but we couldn't finish installing Windows 8 Consumer Preview. We've set your PC back to the way it was right before you started". Thank you!
Good point PGHammer, the improved start menu is right where it used to be. I can see the point of the Metro interface and I'm actually starting to like it. The WDP was an incomplete version which was missing many key features. I used compatibility mode to install my printer and software which seems to work well. Windows 7 is fired for me also.
