I have the same issue, Sleep or Shut Down only cause the PC to restart, it doesn't actually ever shut down.

Not sure why Shift+F8 doesnt work, you can try msconfig and set Safe boot there and restart (if you can even even get into it..) Alternative would be to "Refresh" your PC on the boot menu you get.
You can also get into safemode by using this new Bootloader menu... Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Change windows startup settings > Restart.

It isn't fake, my friend, who is a Windows XP user was in-control of the mouse.

He subconsciously threw his mouse to the bottom left corner, because his mind automatically thinks the start button is there. After realising it isn't, he results to the start button on the keyboard. Being welcomed with the start screen, he is again confused.

At this point, he is completely lost. I had to start giving him hints... All I said was "move to the right", he got lucky and found the charm bar...

If I wasn't giving him hints, he would have been here for a very long time.

Hi Guys, Having played with the DP I'm not altogether lost navigating around and have been playing with it for hours. I can use it and work in it but it's not exactly intuitive for a windows user. But this whole tile thing for a start menu, this is not for traditional PC's, it's just not. It's for tablets and other portable devices. So my opinion on the whole thing is either make options for standard start menus (and I still prefer the flowing trees from classic start menu in XP lol) and tablet start menus. Would that really be SO hard for MS? That or split off two OS's one for real PC's and one for tablet or different version. They could have Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Tiles. The way it is now, I'd never migrate from 7 unless forced to, like you can't play DX13 games on 7 (hey it's happened before). That or many would simply hack in the old start button and menus. Just my 2 cents, W8 needs a lot of criticism IMO.
BTW every app and driver I like installed and worked fine so far. Best Wishes

would you explain which one you have? mine (Photosmart D110) is not working at all. None of the drivers install (even when I try to force install from device manager) and W8 doesn't recognize the printer.

This is for those who not yet and want to enable "dotnetframework 3.5" offline. Follow this trick from Canouna, paste this to command prompt with administrative rights: dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:H:\sources\sxs. Replace H with your drive of Windows 8 CP.

Whoa wait a second. If the files are present in WinSxS then why the hell is it grabbing the files off Windows Update? That seems counter productive.
