I can confirm its an official release with a working ccc

 

I like the view all apps button in Metro but why do I have to right click to see that button, makes little sense. And seriously microsoft just buy ultramon or displayfusion and build it in, jeez.

 

Despite MSE being merged with Windows Defender now?

Now I'm trapped in a mode where the start screen disappears when I click on my other monitors but it's background color stays on the screen and I can't use that monitor at all until I drag a window over to it. Fun

 

Good news ! hp Photosmart was not working Under Windows 8 developer preview but it is working Under Windows 8 consumer preview !!!!!!!

Wow, I was hoping the CP would be different to the DP, but it's worse.

No way to get back to the CORRECT start menu, and now in the CP you can't get to safe mode by pressing F8.

M$ have really screwed this OS up. I won't be buying, or even pirating this piece of crapware.

 

How can I create a bootable USB drive from the ISO? Please help.

Change lockscreen language/time format:

1. Go to C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Logon
2. Open UserSettings.ini
3. Change

For example, the settings below changed the clock to 24 hour format and show month/day in Dutch.

 

Ctrl-Alt-Del brings up the screen for shutting down or restarting.

 

Set Display to Duplicatge the screen on both monitors.

 

Try AFTER you install the chipset drivers

 

Not sure I'm following or would want to do that, this just seems like a bug because initially it wasn't doing that at all. Whenever I launched an application from the taskbar the start screen would just disappear and go back to the desktop. It now seems to be having problems getting out of the start screen. Nothing a reboot won't fix is my guess.

 

Also, boot time is very impressive on SSD, they got that part right at least

 

Thanks. This is also annoying. Why not have shutdown and restart there instead of a power icon that I have to click and select it?

 

No way to turn the Windows 7'ish start menu back?
I also miss that little square at the tasbar, in Windows 7 its located to the right of the clock, when clicking turns you back to the desktop.
But else: Seems fast and stable. Many things to get used to
