USING WINDOWS 8 USING WINDOWS 8 Well if you don't like the Metro thing you have the option of running win 8 WDP and disabling the metro start page (rename the file shsxs.dll to shsxs.dll.old) and this will disable the metro thing and give you a standard win 7 look and operating system. you will also have the start button and functions of win 7 but still have the other features of win 8 like the UI ribbon which i really like and the new task system. those are really the only things i care about. So give it a try..I'm sure you will love it.
Damn, why didn't the Consumer Preview isos came with a ei.cfg file? It should be able to choose versions, e.g. Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Enterprise, Windows server "8" Beta (re-named Windows Server 2012 Beta)...
Cause there are no official SKU's made for beta aka Consumer Preview Open the install.wim with 7-zip & you can see only one index
Here's a second option to patch the watermark in WCP x86. Using loader like in dup or similar patching shell32.dll loaded by explorer.exe. shell32.dll RVA: 004AD2A2 patch 51h to 50h RVA: 004AD3A4 patch 51h to 50h
I dont know if it was mentioned. But I would like the metro better if instead of colored background, use a panoramic pictured instead.
Heloo, I have problem with wireless connection, it's limited after every shutdown and I have to restart PC. I also realised I can just turn ipv6 off, but after next shutdown it's limited again, so I just turn it on and it works again, wierd. Does anyone have same problem? I'm on Win8 CP.
Installing as we speak. From what I'm reading online and such, I'm expecting a pretty bad experience lol. let's see how it turns out
So this kinda sucks! I was going to install it on a netbook I have that I never use and the resolution on that sucker is only 800x600. I can't do ANYTHING on it I really wanna try this out though. Do I wanna install it on my laptop?
