Never tested personally but on server you can remove the whole x86 subsystem, i guess it removes the media player as well
By doing so, a corrupt System only - The amd64 System needs some x86 files in WinSxS to boot. And the x86 media player is merged in the amd64 package.
My impression is that 2016 server is exactly the same s/h/i/t as Win10Ent. All the bugs of Win10 seems to have carried over, even with Store and Edge removed. I have not seen a single improvement over anything. For example, file associations randomly getting changed... even with no store apps, it keeps happening! Most of the daily usage items that work out of box on Win10Ent requires 10X more work. As a workstation it is useless and it definitely is not Vista - 2008 Server difference. I am just using it because Dynamics SRM requires server.
You meant disabling WoW64 support? Code: ServerCore-WOW64 ServerCore-EA-IME-WOW64 ServerCore-EA-IME This has no influnce on GUI-based Desktop Experience (Client).
Is there pure amd64 Server in place? - I forgot. Yet it needs some x86 files in WinSxS to boot. I'm not good at Core, or I'd like to make it a tiny System.
(Sorry, I did not notice this post.) No, it is controlled by annoying Product Policy. It's like Snipping tool which will be disabled by Hyper-V Server.
You mean if I install Hyper-V, it will disable snipping tool? Hyper-V gave me BSOD with my Outpost Firewall. Anyway, you cannot resize screens and all. I am better off with VMWare. I really like Spotlight. It shows interesting high-def pics with info. It adds a bit spice to boringness and you learn new places. I don't want to install yet another thing. You would need to maintain all those over the time... Just like Miranda IM... It was simple and elegant, but any time you needed to update it, you would be spending a week running after broken plug-ins. It was a dreadful experience.
T-S, I am going to tell you something else about Toshiba Stack. Microsoft BT Mouse 3500 is not that important at all. I barely use it. However, it is the realization that Toshiba is not working with a new hardware... gives the impression that I would need to maintain it forever and more... whereas MS stack will be there up-to-date. I see no reason an item as simple as a mouse should not work at this date and age. And it does not with Toshiba. Mouse is BT 4.3 with BLE. So god knows what will happen to Toshiba later with more advanced Bluetooth protocols. I understand where you are coming from given the user-base you have to reply to. But you should consider that some of us looks at this from a different perspective. That is what I was trying to say.
Drivers for Windows 10 are not necessarily applicable to Windows Server 2016. Asus X99-Pro/USB 3.1 for example Windows 10: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I218-V Windows Server 2016: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I218-LM Cisco 1GigE I350 LOM
MSMG is the best place for you, to be honest. BTW, my Server 2016 seems not having Windows Sidebar. How did you get it?
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET IT? I JUST INSTAL WIN 2016 ONLY, JUST HAVE 3 Folders windows sidebar 10.0.14393.0 C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Sidebar WindowsApps 10.0.14393.0 C:\Program Files\WindowsApps no files, empty 3 Folders. why micosoft engineers want to create empty 3 Folders? I don't understand?
