Recursive virtualization! (It's actually not so uncommon; lots of articles reference a problem in this line, but none actually solved the problem. Hence my post.)
You mean, check from inside the VM while it's running? Well, I had explicitly marked VT-x in the VM config screen before booting it up... Not familiar with Windows Credential Guard. msinfo.exe shows it listed on the physical server. (But now VMware won't start b/c I'd added it on the host; so now I gotta remove the role and reboot. Grrr...) I didn't see Credential Guard showing in Services. Where is that configured?
On the base workstation if you run the program cpu-z, in the instructions area it needs to say vt-x. Ms makes "Device Guard and Credential Guard hardware readiness tool" download that. You need to turn off on base workstation
1) Re: VT-x -- yes, it does. (I previously had enabled h/w virtualization at bios.) 2) Re: DevGuard tool. I ran it, but it doesn't look like it's doing much? Screenshots: i68.tinypic [dot] com/2s691c5.jpg i66.tinypic [dot] com/18c2hd.png
It's called Nested Virtualization. Far from trouble-free, so far. VBox supports it on AMD Host CPU with the latest 6.x release. No idea about VMWare.
I'm aware of that, but thanks anyway for nitpicking a minor terminology error rather than contributing to a problem solution. Given that VirtualBox is perpetually behind VMware in features, I'm rather more confident in VMware vs. Virtualbox.

Hello! Can somebody tell me is there any way to install MS Store app on Windows Server 2019 Standard Desktop? I need the mpeg2 codec from the store.
I have installed Server Standard 2019 17763,292 as a desktop system (with GUI). I log into several servers via RDP and allow it to save credentials. That works, but if I run the Credentials Manager Code: C:\Windows\System32\control.exe /name Microsoft.CredentialManager and remove the RDP credentials, I cannot make it save the credentials again, when I log on to a RDP server and ask it to save credentials. Running the Credentials Manager, shows no saved data and I have to enter the password each time. I am not going to reinstall the system just because of that, but it is a bit annoying. Could anybody give me a clue? Thanks
