I'm not sure I buy that. If it can "accidentally" get included and released then I don't think it's really as hard to update as that makes it sound.
The whole Windows subsystem for Linux thing is still in development and one has to be careful with upgrade not to break something and when that happens it can slow the functionality of the entire system. Rather I would say people who aren't so much proficient in Linux to steer clear from upgrading it above the default Linux version.
It is palpable the UWP Linux distros aren't made available in the Windows Store In Build 16215 yet. I am hoping to see Microsoft includes them very soon.
It depends on the owner. Canonical needs to upload it to the Store. Running openSUSE without problems. It installs first on C: but you can move it to another partition/drive through the App&Features "Move" feature. Great! edit: move feature won't work yet. Oh, well. edit2: here is the reason why
That is so cool. I can't wait to test it. Now it is clear Windows 10 is the world best operating system.
That would be highly welcome. There is nothing bad if all Linux distros can find their way into Windows Store.
I tested this out in a VM. All I got was a command window. The last I heard was that Ubuntu had a desktop. A GUI if you will. All I had was a freaking blinking cursor, and absolutely no idea what to do next.
