Yes it repaired corrupted system files on my computer...but there were files that it couldn't repair...which were related to WMC on Windows 10 I can install .msu updates using the Windows Standalone Update Installer just fine. Just not .cab updates using dism.
Obviously there are some system files missing @lobo11, yes i saw that first link too, but no acknowledgement of that error code, they advise to reinstall windows. from Enthousiast I would do a in place upgrade or wait on new OS due in 3 or 4 weeks
