You're the best, my friend—I could kiss you. You've saved my day; I finally have the tool in German, too. Thanks a lot for your quick and accurate support. I discovered the remaining errors—which, in and of themselves, weren't all that numerous—later on, and in the meantime, you had already corrected them. Truly fantastic teamwork. However, a few adjustments still need to be made to all the menus—shortening commands that have become too long so they fit within the frames and buttons. I’ll take care of that and then upload it again.
I have sent you my log file; please take a look at it, as I have some functions that aren't starting. Here are a few issues: "Mounted Image Manager": The "Mounted Image Manager" generates this log for me, and then DISMTools.exe crashes. "Create starter script" doesn't work – nothing happens. "Report Manager" doesn't work – nothing happens. Why can't so many English entries be translated? I get the following error message when I try to create a DISM.dtproj file after opening the program: "An invalid project has been specified."
I explicitly told you that this was a test repository created solely for testing. You asked me to send you the repository link so you could review the code, and I did. However, I received no response, so I was waiting for your feedback and confirmation before submitting a pull request to the main repository. I never intended to compete with your project or take credit for your work. Users have been reporting real problems, and I have been debugging and testing them to prevent serious issues from reaching your official repository. That is why your accusation feels unfair and disrespectful. I have been trying to help improve the project in good faith.
Okay, I will look at your changes, and I thank you for taking up the challenge for localization. You were supposed to make a pull request, though, but I think that you may do that afterwards.
People are reporting some bugs where some parts of the program don't run or nothing happens after clicking a button - I'll send a pull request as soon as this is fixed
I sent you a link to the fixed version. Check the fix and let me know if you encounter any other bugs - the log archive is a big help.
DISMTools 0.8 Update 1 and 0.8.1 Preview 3 are now available to download and install. They are ahead of schedule because today marks 4 years of the DISMTools project. You will find these on WinGet.
DISMTools 0.8.1 is now available as a stable version. The automatic update system will pick it up and install it for you. You can also grab it from WinGet. Some highlights include improved integration with BitLocker drives and multiple class names when exporting drivers or filtering them, plus a registration status filter for AppX packages. Work has begun on the next version, 0.8.2.
Why do you vehemently refuse to include the German language file in your release? Everything has been translated correctly; I simply don't understand how anyone can be so incredibly stubborn.
I have some time today to tackle one of the most requested improvements: the language system. So far, it's going great. Have a look at the new German translations: Because of the changes made to the latest releases, some translations from before the localization service are lost. Also, regression testing is being made to the localization service.
My sincere thanks for that. Should you encounter any translation issues, I am happy to help—thank you very much.
So far, there are no issues in the German translation. The problem is that German has had all its strings translated, whilst other languages haven't. I'm working on translating all strings on those languages before making them easier to contribute to. This will take a couple of days, at best.
In plain language, that means something is missing from the translations in all the language files so far—did I understand that correctly?
It means that those untranslated values are still in English. This applies to the Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Italian files. The Spanish translations have just been completed.
