@911medic I noticed your bootdisk is using 'DMI Editor V2.00.37', are you aware newer versions are available? (V2.00.43 and V2.00.44)
Hi guys, An update here! I have try all tools and no joy. Look like I am about giving up on this board. I however try test on another ECS (A740GM-M) board from my kid's computer and it was a success with just the DMI tool and WHS OEM installer. The WHS is activated! I am very tempting to swap out this board with the 945GCT-M, the troublesome one. May give the stubborn one few more try before I am completely giving up. Any more suggestion? 911medic, how about a request for bios mod from you... ?
The issue I had isn't a problem with the bios keeping the tatooing. The tatooing is successful and persisted but the string is placed in the wrong address space and therefore cannot activate whs. Another thing, too, is that the board is using Intel processor. I have tatooed 3 other boards (2 ECS & Gigabyte) and successfully activate without issue. All three are using AMD processor. 911medic, I have not a chance to try your mod bios just yet. Will keep you updated and thanks for your persisted help.
Hi 911medic, I down load the rom from your link and flash it with sucess, but it appears the rom is of the original bios file. Are you sure one from your link is a mod one? Anyhow, it does not activate.
Maybe I didn't come across clearly! The activation (win XP) was successful, but was getting lost after about 2 weeks. This is because the BIOS is checked at every boot sequence for SLP 1.0 validity. However, "Genuine C&C" OEMBIOS files ensure that the OS (XP in my case) remains permanently validated even without any tattoo present.
Hi guys, I'm having receiving an error that says: "Dude, the windows cd wasn't detected" or somthing like that. What i should do?? Thanks, Fred
Hi, I'm trying to get the USB version but the links look dead. Much love for anyone that can mirror it. Edit : nvm, I was able to make my own USB version using the iso. Cheers for the great tool !
Hello, the first link seems dead. I'm interested because it contain dmicfg.exe. Is there a possibility to have a new working link? Thanks
Thank you, x86, I've already downloaded it, but (if I remember well...) in the first post of 911medic the "first link..hxxp://urlisdown.org/Tools/HP_AMI_...HP_AMI_DMI.iso" pointed to a slightly different iso image (with the same name) that contain also dmicfg.exe. I've not anymore that iso...
Hi... Sorry for the dumb question, but is there an Idiot Guide on How To do this, I am not new to the scene but I need to rebuild a few Windows XP that I have. your help would be and is appreciated.....
