    You cannot use the CD for DELL SLP..this string is not in the DMI address range..

    You can use the tool from ANDYP for a mod, or request a manual mod..

    @ 911medic just a question not a small one :p ever thought of expanding your script to include on top of Hewlett-Packard, brand names like EMACHINES, GIGABYTE, and LENOVO if you know what i'm at getting at addresses that will normally work with DMI tool.:biggrin:

    This is just a question i can type them in but the easier the better.

    It is actually Suicide Solution's script..I just adapted it a bit differently..Hewlett-Packard is just too foolproof...and I dont really have the time for it now..

    I still can't understand if this article would help me a lot in activating Windows XP :( Is this like the Windows 7 Loader?

    NO....you need to read on the XP activation sceme..There is not, never has been, nor ever will be, an XP loader..it is not possible. Do you understand the premise of a Vista/W7 loader and the activation scheme it emulates??? Apples and oranges my friend, between XP and the Vista/W7..

    Without a SLP string in the proper range in the bios, you cannot activate the XP properly..this allows that. So I presume understanding the activation scheme and the purpose of this tool would be paramount in your success.

    The closest thing to a loader is the oembios changer..

    Somewhat confused on the use of phlash16.exe to mod my Phoenix bios on an old HP 531-w machine.

    In the example:
    phlash16.exe kaw6100.WPH /X /S /mode=3 /DVM:AcerSystem;
    Where would I get the .WPH file for the Phoenix 3.07 bios, dated 1/22/02, and how do I input the SLP1.0 string to use WHS? HP has not posted a Bios update.

    A gentle nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    The WPH would be from the HP website..check with the OEMBIOS.exe to see if you already have the requisite slp in the bios..it is highly likely

    @911Medic:

    Thanks for the reply!

    I do have SLP for XP, but that's not going to help as far as WHS is it?

    Windows XP OEMBIOS Test v1.1/269/106 (C) 2007-2010 severach @ msfn forums
    F:Hewlett-Packard OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=06D652A4
    F:Trigem OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=DFD180D2
    These Royalty OEM install CD's should preactivate (SLP) on your system.
    Lines starting with E: are not reliably detected when running under Windows

    Hi
    I've read through all 16 pages, can someone confirm that if its an asus motherboard the bios has to be modded. Can someone point me in the right direction of how to mod it.
    Thanks

    Anyone know where i can get the tattoo utility for a DV9000?

    A bios update messed up my DMI, it looks like this:

    I need to use the tattoo tool rather than the phoenix bios flashing method to set the info. The function of the keyboard has been effected, the dv9000 has a separate number pad, but when numlock is on the letters turn to numbers, e.g: qwerty456*, this should happen on the dv6000 and not the dv9000. So something has gone wrong, i'm hoping the tattoo tool can fix it.

    I had this happen to me before on another dv9000, i sent it in and they re-tattooed it with all the info and the keyboard function returned to normal, but this is out of warranty :(

    Any help you can give is very much appreciated.
