He simply downloaded 7264 LP cab file, changed update.mum inside strings to 6.1.7600.16385 and integrated cab into dvd. If you do this it will entirely translate rtm build into italian language, while if you try to install lp.cab language file from windows 7 control panel it will says "language file is corrupted" or something similar. Anyway I think to continue to use English RTM so far, as I've one year technet msdn account and on next August 6th I'll have my RTM with legit key and LP packs available on windows update. It's always better using official MUIs instead of "home made" ones.

Afaik unfortunately not, so we have to wait for MSDN. Perhaps this is better, because then it's the right version (7600 instead of 7264)
I also have the same problem I have Windows 7 7600 Ultimate 64-bit When I try to install languages through the control panel, I get an error When I install the following file: windows6.1-kb972813-x64-it-it_3f0f5d78202e074e17a495beec821e1d326a8e2a.exe nothing happens and when I try to manually install the file, I get the following error: the language cannot be installed on this computer I will really appreciate if someone can help me install these languages, I want to install portuguese, italian and spanish (64-bit) I really want to install a language, at least one, to see if it works

MY Windows 7 works great, I've had it since June 2009 But I've never been able to install the language packs
What does MSI version mean ? There is just one kind of language pack and its microsoft's. Since june 2009 ? Hope its not the RC release. What version is installed and how do you try to install language pack ? Use vistalizator on other versions then ultimate.
