do i need slic 2.1 for KMS activation?

    we have volume license for windows 7 at work.

    do we need slic 2.1 bios on our systems for KMS activation or will KMS activation work with slic 2.0 bios too?

    is there any info on microsofts website about this?

    I could activate Enterprise edition with a MAK key, on a SLIC 2.0 bios, and older machines, so I think KMS activation is similar. (no need for certificate or slic check).

    ok thanks.

    and is it possible to activate win7 with KMS wehn you have no SLIC table at all and no MAK key?

    i don´t want to flash all our motherbords.

    MAK and KMS key are different though.
    you still need key for both, however you need to specify server for the kms method, and you dont need to have SLIC table in your bios.
