Another good reason to wipe out Intel is because it pings home. And no not just checking for updates, long time ago when LTSB arrived I do recall seeing it posting XML data to intel. I wish I had saved which domain but I blocked the TLD since then. Yeah, I saw full XML being posted everyday from my laptop .. something in the lines of "Application Experience...blabla that was part of the HTTP body while inspecting it through MITM. Speaking of, Intel Pro Tool Set drivers are suspicious too. You can manually install the default inf package and it will all be great until you talk to windows update. They will push the full Pro Set software on your PC regardless. The Wifi Pro Set software is spread all over the place, ProgramData, LocalAppData, Commons, etc. WHY??? Big brother is watching.
@ForeverYoung2 general we all know what Windows is capable of doing and there is indeed some "price" we have to pay if we want to use it. I don't care if Intel is using that information for their researches because so far that was not an issue with them. I am not installing complete RST software because of the services they are not crucial for my system or necessary. I am having two Intel SSD's on two different computers, one is ltsc and the other one is ltsb. Both are working fine with the latest driver without the complete RST tool.
I am wondering... Intel is releasing these drivers every 2-3 days? Thanks for noticing that there are newer one's.
What drivers version should I use for: Intel i3-4160 (Haswell) with Intel 545s SSD Intel i7-2670QM (Sandy) with Samsung 840 In the future how to look for proper driver version?
