These guys in many cases were legitimate holders of green cards, worked for US military etc., they were all vetted many times over - much more than any of Trump's administration, many of whom have no clue what they are doing, some of whom are vile warmongers, xenophobes, extreme right wingers etc. etc.!!!

I am not Obama fan but I have to point out something you mistake about that slogan of 'Yes, we can'. It wasn't about anything than electing the first black president of United States of America, which was thought could never be possible around the world. The Americans proved it can be done. Seriously, I don't really understand your point there.

Trump building the wall will have effect in the area of security and reduces the high chances of immigrants crossing the boarder easily but the cost will be way above its advantages.

Your statement is simply not the case.

No one can logically begin to defend 'illegal immigration' as being, in any way shape or form, a 'benefit' for ANY society or country.
EVERY country worldwide that has an 'open border' policy is failing in every way imaginable, and they are only years from collapse both economically and culturally. Several countries throughout Europe are clearly a stark example of this today.

Even with a [severely depressed estimate] number of a secure border reducing 'illegal immigration' by just 9-12% the wall is paid for in full.

IMO the southern border security setup that is currently underway - the physical wall completion, electronic surveillance through rugged areas where a physical wall is impossible, drone video monitoring, increased #'s of border security agents, etc, etc., the actual percentage of illegal crossings on that southern border will be reduced somewhere in the 80-90 percentile range, and will in fact pay for the 'WALL' tenfold.

Beyond all this, the facts above only address the economic impacts related to the 'fiscal burden' of illegal aliens.
Add to these figures the burden inflicted upon society with the drug smuggling, human trafficking, courts and incarceration, violent crimes committed by (some) illegal aliens, and yes deaths too.
How much are these lives worth?; http://www.ojjpac.org/memorial.asp

Add in the threat of terrorists being able to [easily] cross that border...that is itself another realm for consideration.
Those who oppose the right of any country's sovereignty, and their right to have defined and secure borders can leave to Sweden, or to Angela Merkal's debacle of an open borders policy, Germany, or get over it...

The 'wall' is going to be built, and completed at breakneck speed, and U.S. immigration laws [already on the books] protecting the sovereignty of the United States will be enforced, something that has been neglected for decades too long.

I'm glad this is happening. The States and its citizens deserve it. I agree that those laws should had been enforced since decades.

We need to let MORE people in not less. Our agriculture industry will rot in the fields without immigrants. Only through immigration can a country be strong. Anyone who thinks otherwise has failed history, and really needs to learn a lot. Building a wall has never worked to protect the sovereignty of any nation, and certainly won't do so for the U.S. It is the first step towards its demise.

Oh! This is the well-known speech about immigrants, specially about those ones that can deal with hard and dirty jobs. I know that.

Only through immigration can a country be strong? Well, arguable but yes I agree, kind of.
Any case immigration should be a very controlled process, where an enterprise or business or economy sector requires workforce through specialized and well designed instruments and gov. departments to ask different countries for people willing to work hard and this people undergo through a thorough and comprehensive selection process to give them work visas and pay their taxes. Order and control. Not just random people jumping fences like rats and hiding from the authorities eyes even their intentions are good will.

Speaking as an outsider, I'm puzzled why, if the economy needs immigrants, why don't the authorities give them temporary residence and work permits, so that they can be controlled, they pay taxes and they're not subject to blackmail and gross exploitation?

They do... As long as those immigrants enter through the proper channels.
It is all the rest which need to be deported.

In fact all of the 9/11 hijackers entered this country legally.
That in and of itself speaks volumes.
(Most with student Visas, including Mohammed Atta who came to learn to fly, but he already had his pilots license)

...But if they legitimize them, they'd all enter thru the proper channels.

It'll be effective but it needs watchmen to guard it. "And now his watch begins" :D

Do you know why there were no hate crimes against Latinos? Because they're not saying "Death to America" and threatening to bring jihad to this country.

Once again. Drawing a direct line of causation between the Islamic State rhetoric and the American stance on Muslim immigration is difficult. :D

There are ways to handle the immigration problem that would preclude the need for a 'Wall'. For one thing, streamline the process for -anybody- of direct South American descent to enter legitimately. That especially includes Mexicans.

Get them in, give them Social Security numbers and give them the opportunity to legitimately work and pay taxes. If they're legitimized the instant they enter the country, Businesses can't prey on them.

Making it "impossible" for them to sneak in is not the answer. Making it so it makes no sense for them to sneak in is the real answer.

The illegals which are here now are undocumented. They have no social security card, birth certificate, etc.
Therefore there is NO way for the gubbermint to track the monies (collected through legitimate citizen's taxes) expended on the illegals, nor is there any way to collect taxes from these individuals simply because they are not tracked at that level.

Personally I would guestimate that dollar amount to be between 5 and 10 Billion per year due to the "bleeding hearts" not even attempting to keep track.
(Keep in mind when I guesstimate any project, in order to come close I usually have to take my original guesstimate and multiply that by 2.5. o_O )

dhjohns is a prime example of what I mean by "bleeding heart".

It is a very noble cause to help others who are less fortunate, but NOT at the cost of bankrupting yourself.
That can be scaled from the individual to continents, and that is the direction the "bleeding hearts" would like us to go, bankruptcy.
