Trump won because he lied to the voters. The Democrats told the truth. Specifically Hillary said the coal mining jobs are NOT coming back. That is the truth. Industry has already switched to cleaner, cheaper natural gas. Manufacturing jobs are also NOT coming back. Industry always moves to the cheapest location of production. Trump repeated his lies often until people believed them. People are so stupid.

Indeed they are. Amazing how some don't ask WHY coal mining is not coming back.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. ;)

Yeah, I know, seen it a couple of times...

    Compare with this:

    http://thephilosophicalsalon.com/the-cia-reads-french-theory-on-the-intellectual-labor-of-dismantling-the-cultural-left/

So, not so "powerless", the Left, after all... ;) Well, at least "potentially"... :)

I wonder if they supported "Praxis", as the ultimate satire scenario only life could write... :p

"The intelligence agency understands culture and theory to be crucial weapons in the overall arsenal it deploys to perpetuate US interests around the world. The recently released research paper from 1985, entitled “France: Defection of the Leftist Intellectuals,” examines—undoubtedly in order to manipulate—the French intelligentsia and its fundamental role in shaping the trends that generate political policy. Suggesting that there has been a relative ideological balance between the left and the right in the history of the French intellectual world, the report highlights the monopoly of the left in the immediate postwar era—to which, we know, the Agency was rabidly opposed—due to the Communists’ key role in resisting fascism and ultimately winning the war against it. Although the right had been massively discredited because of its direct contribution to the Nazi death camps, as well as its overall xenophobic, anti-egalitarian and fascist agenda (according to the CIA’s own description), the unnamed secret agents who drafted the study outline with palpable delight the return of the right since approximately the early 1970s."

Now, how telling this is, as to self-awareness and expressing honestly where the Right's "heart" lies...???

Ole, CIA! :D What an own goal! :p Bravo! :D

    P.S. Here it is: https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP86S00588R000300380001-5.pdf

@gorski: Too bad that document is sanitized. :(

In your opinion, how much of what he says in that video is true? Because many of the things he says make sense to me.

Watching all those political videos gets a bit boring. [IMG]

So here's one that demonstrates in a more entertaining manner how to share without conflict or building walls.

It is hard for an outsider to be in any way "certain" on things that are by definition "obscured" from vision of us, "gentiles"...

Well, not without delving into the literature and so on - a lot...

However, he does sound plausible to me, yes...

@gorski: Thank you. I ask because we've all been galvanized into thinking that radical statements made about the US government ,regardless of whether or not they are true, are 'FUD' or 'Conspiracy Theories'. Most of us cling to an ideal and refuse to see the truth for what it is.

As an American, I've seen many of the things he mentioned in his video and felt the same way.

@Katzenfreund,et.al.: How could you bring up such a politically charged issue like US Immigration policy and not expect to be presented with background information which is relevant to the question asked?

Everything both gorski and I have posted is critically important to understanding the problem.

Koch my arrogant friend: This is an OPINION thread. There is no correct answer. There is simply an exchange of opinions on a subject. You gave your opinion that this thread should be closed, because it can't be solved.

And I gave you my opinion about your opinion.

That's how opinion threads work. :)

There is, but ignorance makes you blind. The wall is not possible it would around 20 billion dollars + there is then no guarantee that it helps as said there are the air + boad ways to get into it anyway. Maybe re-watch my linked video. This is a fact not an opinion.

    This is a fact.

    https://www.cnet.com/pictures/meet-the-navys-new-13-billion-aircraft-carrier/

If we spent 13 billion on an Aircraft Carrier, what makes you think we couldn't spend 7bn more and build that wall?

So, it's your opinion that we couldn't do it because of cost. Not a fact.

What's the difference, right an Aircraft has a reason to exist .. the wall is as said not an guarantee like an Aircraft. Trump and others also know about this, otherwise they had already started to work on it. You compare apples with Hillary's.

The old USS Gerald R. Ford is from 2008 and the new ship replaces the old one from 2008/successor from 2013 and was long time planed. The 600 miles wall already exist since dunno, do you really believe if they had the money they would not 'complete' it. The test showed that it not helps and this is the real reason.

No one spent 20 billion dollars if it's not guaranteed that it helps. Not even US people are that stupid.

They will never build such a wall.

Now excuse me the ignorance and stupid arguments here making me hungry. :tasty:

a hole in the water that you throw money into..

@cheffy; mj was very convincing with her agument, imo.
in holland we have saying; a boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into.
the reason behind the argument was obvious; if the us can afford to squander $ 13 billion
on an aircraft carrier, they can afford to squander some loose billions on a wall too.
[ we dont have an aircraft carrier here, and no wall either.]
    how was your pizza?;)

Well this is an opinion but you easily say 'they can but they can't. That's the point even the President can't waste such amount of money for 'nothing' or if there are doubts. There is no doubt that such an ship is more useful than a wall which in fact never helps anyone, except that it costs money and people maybe die in front of it just because they want a better life.

UK has aicrafts and a wall and they got huge criticism for the last one, because people died .. because ignorant people not wanted to let refuges in.. So what if UK has problems, then what would you do? Right go into a country with a better future for you and your family. Again watch the video I posted ...

.. which means ^^ even Presidents have their limits, and in this case the Congress never accept it.

Yep, really helps. /sacasm. They have already less money and then they should pay for a wall right in front of them.

Fact is that a wall not helps and I explained it for little kids why and you still discuss about that. This makes me laugh.

    Sandwich time :tasty:

a wall? the roman empire tried that before, a few millennia ago; to protect england from the scots.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadrian's_Wall
it is now a major tourist attraction. and no, it did not work. :D the us have kept carriers in commission since the end of ww2, till the present day. usefull?
what did they use them for? a hole in the water, like i said. money squandered, like i said. i suspect we will find trumps`wall in wikipedia too, before too long, as a
    major tourist attraction.. :g:

@nodnar: We call a boat a "hole in the water" here too. :)

If I have a large amount of money, and I don't want a group of people to have it, I'll spend it on something else. And that's what our Government does. There's a concept called Social Darwinism; it's how those with money control the quality of the workforce. They cater to the successful and starve out the poor and stupid (Their choices of words and labels, not mine.)

Survival of the fittest. Where the Alpha Male is the male with the most money and possessions.

That quote has been pounded into the heads of -every- woman for at least 50 years by the MSM.

Do not delude yourselves into thinking that Trump dreamed up this wall by himself. It's an agenda, just like every other agenda hatched out in the minds of the wealthy republicans. Whether or not it's completed, many contractors will bilk millions of dollars out of the Government, and ultimately out of the taxpayers pockets.

Anybody who wants to debate that can take a look at the XB-70, the B1 and a host of other failed aerospace programs that costed the taxpayers billions of dollars.

It's just another gravy train. And contractors on the Approved Vendor List will get to ride that train and decide who gets to make money.
