Why would you want to delete StartMenuExperienceHost.exe?
In my system it uses 0% CPU and only 30 MB memory when Open-Shell is installed as an alternative start menu

For me it's sluggish, I updated from LTSC 2019. I can clearly notice that the RAM usage is higher than LTSC 2019. I always disabled various animations and transparency, so it's not the difference of different animations.

    data talks.

I am NOT saying "feel sluggish". my data (test time of my python scripts running) shows fact.

    1. on HP 800 G4DM8600. 27 sec. on W11 23H2 vs. 18 sec. on W7. It's about 50% increasing. 27 sec. vs. 18 sec.
    2. on Dell7070SFF 9500. 30.7 sec. on W11 24H2. no data. on W7 (cannot install).
test time by 9500 is slower than that by 8600, because of Windows 11 24H2. hence I must install Windows 7. period.

I have an i9-12900H with a NVIDIA 3080 Ti and 32gb of RAM and am multibooting Linux Mint (rarely use), Windows 10 IoT LTSC 21H2 (mainly use) and Windows 11 IoT LTSC 24H2 (occasionally use).

For me, whenever I use Windows 11, not only is idle RAM usage slightly higher (around 4gb on W11 compared to 3gb on W10), but the system also feels like it heats up much faster (I have maximum fan speed enabled in the firmware settings) and on some occasions while just listening to music, it (the system itself, not just the music) actually lags for 1 or 2 seconds in between which doesn't happen at all on Windows 10. Keep in mind that according to the official website for my system, Windows 11 is the only operating system officially supported by it.

So yes, it is sluggish for me.

What I found on older AND modern hardware (especially laptops), that 24H2 sometimes wont load a complete window, only its boarders, no text.
And removing USB drives sometimes dont give any confirmation. Neihter sound nor infotext.

I like running the Heaven benchmark on all my builds for a few hours just for a quick test and benchmark comparison. It was released in 2009 but is small & runs on all OS from Vista+.
Upon finishing installation I manually delete the installer. I'm finding that I need to wait a few seconds before deleting, else I get a popup that the file is in use and to retry. This NEVER happened on older OS's...

Also curious what deleting this achieves.

No Start, which downloads feeds and ADs in the background, it is also connected to web search/copilot.

    Hi,

    AMD Ryzen 1600 / 16GB / NVME / GTX 1650 -> Windows 11 24H2 feels ok to me.

I would like little faster amination speed. Actually it's the animation "speed" sometimes make it appear slower than what it actually is for me.

I wish they give us an option like what we get with Android Skin UI, where you can actually toggle the animation speed.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

As I wrote in my reply, Windows is installed in a NVME Drive. To be specific, PCIe Gen 3 (WD SN570) NVMe SSD. However, the system does have large HDDs for other data storage needs but Windows Swap files or all programs are within that NVMe SSD.

    Thanks.

Well, It's depending how many GB ram you have, IF you have 16GB, then I set swap file 8GB which good enough, IF 32GB RAM, then I would leave 8GB Swap just fine.. That what I did my Windows 10 or 11.. For Server, I use 64GB RAM, I set to DUAL 16GB Each Storage (32GB).. Shouldn't hurt on NVMe SSD..
