I read some where that activation is not needed. Daz you beat me to it, and thanks for the downloads.
Do I need to make a bootable USB drive for this or just extract it onto the USB stick and it's all good to go?
Gonna try it in a VM. I hope MS has some good Metro tutorials. Hopefully there is a way to have both types of UI if needed. I wonder how quicky Bosh would catch on, he is the main source of the UI for OTK/MTK (I'm not so good at making things nice as I am coding them). I hear C# and Silverlight are good candidates for Metro apps, and likely to be more portable (in the sense that Microsoft will be supporting ARM, wonder if they'll make a ARM Office edition ).
About those 28 Metro style sample apps...I downloaded the x86 build, which doesn't mention them on the public download site. However, it's the same SHA-5 as "Windows Developer Preview with Apps (x86)" from MSDN. So it includes some apps, but are they the same ones? If not, will they be installable on the x86 build, assuming they're broken out into a separate directory on the x64 media (and someone posts them--it'll be a while before I can download it too) and they're not 64-bit only apps?
