Kinda stupid question, is it safer to go with Techbench or MCT ISO? I ask because on Techbench is install.wim while on MCT is install.esd.
Each have their pro's and con's, a few examples: MCT ISO has install.esd, can't be serviced but is smaller, and only has limited sku's. TB/MVS ISO contains install.wim, can be serviced and has all consumer sku's but is larger. You can compress the ISO install.wim to install.esd to have it smaller. And don't forget UUP Dump Website
Thank you, that's what I wanted to know. I know that ESD is compressed and size is not what I am really bothered but I didn't know if ESD can be serviced since I read somewhere that it had issues with DISM if I remember correctly. I will go with Techbench.
Don't confuse the term ESD and install.esd. The MCT downloads ESD files, and creates an ISO from it, with an install.esd inside.
RIght, got it! Thanks. And about the updates, should I go manually with W10UI to integrate them in the install image or is there some tool that does this automatically or just leave it to Windows to download them?
Great, I've downloaded the Techbench ISO. Since the image is 18362.30, is it enough to download and install all Feature updates only? From what i can see, the Feature updates include the .cab files from Cumulative updates. My plan is to start with 18362.53 Cumulative, .86 Feature, 113 Feature, 116 Feature and 145 Feature. I can't find Feature update for .53
Hi Guys, I am asking this question after searching for a while(a bit frustrated), I am downloading the Windows ISO through UUP option as explained above but Unfortunately I am not able to find - Windows 10 Pro for Workstation. are there some other scripts/techniques to download the same?
UUP only offers Home (+N) and Pro (+N), all other sku's you can create by using the option "aria2 + convert + create additional editions". But you can use the base UUP iso for upgrading all sku's.
Enterprise Business is Volume License and activated with KMS, yes. Well, I'll try Update Assistant then. Thanks. Hmm, so I can use it to upgrade Enterprise 1809 to 1903 then? And I can wait for the official Enterprise ISO for clean installs if I need any.
Enterprise and all sku's, except LTSC, can be HWID activated (OEMRET), it's not fixed to VL. Yep, and what official iso's are you waiting for, 18362.1 is released march 20, 2019. MSFT released the 18362.30 MVS iso's april 20. Last week they released the MCT and the VLSC iso's should also be available any day now.
I have been reading all of this for a hour and I'm confused. I have a system that is OEM Home so when I install from an ISO it automatically installs Home. I want to install Enterprise. how can I do this? also what do I use to integrate the UUP into the ISO...
