Thank you for reply I run different hardware and got used to switch freely between it, bringing SSDs in my pocket For example, I have MSI H110i at home and LENOVO SHARKBAY (SOCKET 0) workstation here at work CPU Intel Core i7 4770 @ 3.40GHz 32 °C Haswell 22nm Technology RAM 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24) 476GB INTEL SSDSC2KW512G8 (SATA (SSD)) I use fresh VHDX systems only, deployed from images in minutes
Now with the last 1803 updates I see slightly different behavior: I can remove non-system SSD and insert it back into the same channel - as I could do before the 1803, i.e. preserving the online state and recognized volumes. But if the SSD was not present at boot time, It is no more being detected by the OS even with manual 'devices rescan'. Fortunately, the system doesn't die anymore I may guess it don't recognize inserting of 'Fixed' drives: only 'Removables' are accepted (connected via a USB-SATA bridge, for example) And I still see the old good behavior with Server 2016 (updated last winter) on the same hardware
That became possible at pre 112 or at 112. EDIT: is was at 112 CU release: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-10-hotfix-repository.57050/page-301#post-1443757

I noticed people last Tuesday mentioning that 4340917 was released, but it's dated from one week before that on the 17th? Am I missing something?
Should be 17134.112 as latest official release, there is no newer one, you'll need to create 17134.191 yourself.
Once upon a time people came to MDL to learn Download here and read the readme: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-10-hotfix-repository.57050/page-105#post-1216064
