Can someone help me with this plz? I have a driver but when i try install that driver I can not get the modem to accept using it. How do I do this?

    1. Click add modem
    2. At HW wizard I select Dont detect my modem by putting check in box and select, NEXT.
    3. Click on have disk. Browse to what I think is my driver (inf) file and hit OK.

It then comes "models" window with the HAVE DISK option but i can not click NEXT because the option is grayed out.

What do I need to do plz.

    thx

Try “mediafire.com “and search for: 20315014_cf89efe778be92b267b5a40f7c3b11d1bd030a07.cab.
This is the same file posted by “ricktendo64” , just uploaded to mediafire. Cant post Links because of “low post count”.

I don’t use “windows 8”. Have you tried to run the “UIU32c.exe” with “admin rights”.

Try right clicking on the .inf file and install it then when it asks for location point it to windows or even windows\system32\drivers. I don't have windows 8 installed so the path may not be correct but this is just to give you a general idea.

You probably already have this driver installed, it should download automatically via Microsoft Update

If you dont, right click the modem in device manager, choose update driver software, then choose browse my computer and point to the extracted files

You can also use the command line to install

    Code:
    pnputil.exe -i -a <INF_name_here>.inf

tried right click on the driver and selected install. It said installed successfully but same driver date listed. Any other ideas? Someone suggested run in compatibility mode. What are they talking about the driver itself or what?

    thx
