XP Pro x32 up to date..including PosReady updates also.. where can i get this patch ??
@daniel_k @George King i'm posting my sys specs, i have already all driver working, i have IDE controller in bios for the hard disk because a driver that bypass 2TB limit, that way to let it working without bsod, so far last time i tested. see about this here: hardwarefetish.com/524-paragon-gpt_loadersys-bsod-analysis-and-fix should i update drivers, or is mandatory after using this patch to update some drivers? i wish to use AHCI and bypass 2 TB limit if possible (i have a seagate 5 TB installed, partioned in 2 TB parts), with ahci bios enabled that way my main HD (samsung 512 GB SSD) works faster, the main hard drive, which is always be default called as C:\ drive, is D:\ drive, mentioning this in case i should fix something before applying the patch. mainboard specs and all details, here: mediafire.com/file/b6bwmjlkyb0kp0z/Report.zip/file any advice always welcome.. My Best Regards
Hey, guys, it's nice to see so many people using XP system. Many people have made great efforts and time to use XP system for new hardware. Thank you very much. I use ACPI_ outerspace_ 6666_ The AHCI driver integrated ISO made by 22oct2020 and Fernando has successfully installed XP 32-bit SP3 on my computer. At present, it runs well and the modified USB driver can work normally, which really makes me very excited. Now there is one last question left. My computer can only recognize 1.42gb of memory. My computer configuration is: CPU: Intel i7 7740X MB: ASUS ROG Rampage VI Apex X299 RAM: G.SKILL DDR4 16GB (2x8) VGA: R9 280X 3GB SAMSUNG 870 EVO SATA III(500GB) I changed the memory in various ways, but I can only recognize 1.42gb. Fortunately, I saw PAE v3.5, but I repaired the file with PAE and renamed it to replace the file in system32 folder (ntkrpamp. Exe = > ntkrnlpa. Exe halmacpi. DLL = > Hal. DLL). After restarting the computer, the system prompts that hal.dll file is missing or needs to be repaired. Did I do something wrong? What should I do? I just want 4GB of memory. 1.42g is too little. Guys, I need your help. 1. How can the PAE repaired files work normally? Do you need to replace the overwritten files in the PE environment after installing the XP system, or do you need to extract and install the ISO CD-ROM files, repair them, replace and recreate the ISO before installing the system? 2. Does boot.ini need to be modified? What commands do you need to modify? Sorry, I'm really not proficient in computers. Please give me advice. The more detailed, the better. Thanks
1.42G probably limited by motherboard download "RW Everything", select "E820 Report", check memory ranges marked as Available at adresses below 100000000, example of semi-good motherboard (3Gb available): 0 0000000000000000 000000000009C800 1:Available 1 000000000009C800 0000000000003800 2:Reserved 2 00000000000E0000 0000000000020000 2:Reserved 3 0000000000100000 00000000B5177000 1:Available So starting from 1M (0x100000) this motherboard define RAM size for x32 OSes as 3 038 212 096 bytes (0xB5177000) = ~3Gb Anyway PAE mode allows to use all available RAM if you not afraid to fight with often broken 3rd drivers if you have some unusual device at usb/pci/motherboard
i'm using this with boot menu entry: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP (PAE Test)" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /HAL=halpae.dll /KERNEL=ntkrpae.exe used the patch with 32BG option, i have my 16 GB recognized and is working very well.... my cuestion is.. what is the difference using/testing like this and modifying all files directly? tried to apply the patch, system were asking me for drivers, almost all drivers were installed and no crash, system was slow, not sure if i had to update some of the driver with supplied ones, i already replaced the usb driver file, and in test mode everything is working without mayor system changes, i applied patch in all sugested files and replace them back in system32, still was having limit as 3.25 gb installed/available, i don't know why after applying this patch later is neccesary to rename two files in system 32 ?, they exist with same names, then what should exactly do ? so far i prefer using this in test mode, i'm sorry to tell but original patch instructions are ambiguous
This is a working option. There is no need to replace existing files. But if you want to replace existing files, it's easier to do it with the RunMeEng.cmd file in my assembly. Improved the work of the batch file, 31.10.21.
[Files.SCSI.stornvme] driver = disk1, storhvme.sys, stornvme ====> has to be driver = disk1, stornvme.sys, stornvme inf = disk1, stornvme.inf
@daniel_k Hi, can you share the files storport.sys v5.2.3790.4173 and storport.sys v5.2.3790.4485? Have a good day@_@
@ExtremeGrief Yes, I get XP to work in full for the Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming II board. I use the XP from Ramsey for this [Note from the mods: Don't link homebrew ISOs] Dietmar
