    Hai @daniel_k. thank's for WinXPPAE Patch, I'm very impressively with this.
    I have testing this on My HP Elitebook 8470P with Windows XP SP3 + full update pack from other forum.
    And the test result is:

    My usb flash drive can't be formated.
    And My build in camera can't showing any capturing image from Windows Explorer and from VLC Media Player.

    Could be any solution for this problem ?

    Sorry with My poor english

    Thank's in advance

    Not sure that this an issue from WinXPPAE.
    Perhaps that this is a weakness of the Microsoft USB driver in PAE mode... ;)

    Hi,

    No problem here with PAE + USB3 driver. I can format my USB flash drives.
    My system is: Z370 + i7-8700K + 16GB

    My BIOS is patched so I use original acpi.sys. Not sure if you're using a patched acpi.sys.

    PS: I have been really busy so don't expect constant updates/replies from me.

    @daniel_k

    WINXPPAE isn't involved in this issue. :rolleyes:

    The issue is with USB 2.0 ports and the genuine USB 2.0 driver from Microsoft
    The driver isn't fully compatible with PAE.

    On a USB 3.0 port with a third party driver (ASmedia or Renesas by example), I can format a drive without issues.
    I have checked this on a HP Elitebook 8440p laptop which have USB 2.0 ports and a expresscard with 2 USB 3.0 ports.

    If your motherboard has at least one USB 2.0 port, you can check this by yourself.

    Have a nice day!

    Here too no problems formatting USB flash drives with PAE enabled.
    Tried also on a USB2 port as from the images on the next post.
    (with only 4 posts reached I could not attach the images here)

    @Andalu
    By USB2 port, he means native USB2 ports using the USB2 in-box driver from MS.

    That would be 6/7 series for Sandy Bridge / Ivy Bridge with USB3/XHCI disabled, so ports work in native USB2 mode. All previous chipsets only have USB2 ports.

    As far as i remember, you have a Z77 system, right? Please test if formating works in PAE mode with USB3/XHCI disabled in BIOS.

    I had the same problem at the begining and it was very frustating. :)

    The motherboard of the HP Elitebook 8440p laptop has an Intel QM57 Express Chipset (no USB 3.0 ports).

    @daniel_k

    In the future, can we expect something from the leaked source code of XP ? :confused:

    Just tried on my B75 Ivy Bridge board and I can confirm now what @genieautravail and @Saiful Purwanto reported:
    formatting (and checking disk too) doesn't work for usb flash drives connected to the usb2 ports when PAE is enabled. Also tried on a Haswell board (8 series chipset) with same results. Sometimes the system hangs completely. I got the above issues even without disabling the USB3 controller in bios.

    It's why the russian patch 4Gb-Fix (Up to 128Gb) replace the following XP's drivers by their counterparts from W2k3 and add some others too:

    hidparse.sys
    usb8023.sys
    usb8023x.sys*
    usbccgp.sys
    usbd.sys
    usbehci.sys
    usbhub.sys
    usbintel.sys
    usbohci.sys*
    usbport.sys
    usbscan.sys*
    USBSTOR.SYS
    usbuhci.sys
    usbvideo.sys*

    *: new from W2k3

    By doing this, it try to resolve all issues with USB drivers but the drivers from W2k3 are not fully compatible with XP and there are stability issues with them too. ;)

    @Andalu, sent you a PM.

    @genieautravail, no need to replace all those files, obviously the system may become unstable.

    Regarding the source code, I think that the acpi.sys is the most interesting part for us.

    But first, we need someone to update the sources by reversing the SP3 version of that file, otherwise we would end up with a half baked solution as there were many changes between SP1 and SP3.

    The 128GB PAE patch never worked on my system. Before the WinXPPae patch by daniel_k, I always used the 'Chinese' patch but the formatting for usb flash drives failed anyway.
    With the "fix" also this issue is now overcome for the WinXPPae patch.
