Will return to ASUS site with correct MB info and try again! Once again, my humble apologies for posting the wrong MB info! :bashtroll:

Edit: deleted because I found specs for the old board... not the Z97A board

It's not hard. You're simply doing something wrong. All you have to do:
    1. Click the link from Enthousiasts's post
    2. Select windows 7 (32 or 64-bit, whichever you have installed)
    3. Download Audio, LAN, Chipset, USB, VGA, SATA
    4. Install the downloaded drivers.

The way you're explaining what you're doing, I bet you're downloading random, irrelevant stuff. Everything's there on asus' website. There's simply no way in hell drivers for a Z97 board are as hard to find/install as you make them out to be...

@jetjock: Look for the chipset driver / chipset INF. That's the first thing you should install.

Every time I skipped that, I had problems.

Wow 2 pages & no-one knows what motherboard it is. Z97A is the Intel chipset. How hard is it to take a look & report the model?

I see no reason as to why the O.P. can't go to the Asus web site link that was posted and just get his drivers and be done with it.

As I said in one of my posts, you are right. There is no way in hell it should be that hard! However, I had already done what Enthousiast suggested quite awhile back, and it did get rid of the some of the "!"s but not all. After I did the reinstall of Win 7 I just used the CD I have for the MB and it got rid of all but two. See I33tissw00t's post of the 18th.
Yes, that was the first one I installed. That usually does get rid of most "!"s but I still had to install a bunch more by pointing each driver update at the CD.

Don't know. All the drivers at Asus are there from Win7 to 10. Why would you be looking for drivers elsewhere???

Do you have any external usb devices plugged in? anything like a printer?
Also...did you use the chipset driver from Asus or the driver you found from Intel?
Can you post the Device ID for the devices that you have the exclamation marks on?
Also, I do not recall if you stated if this is a custom built pc or a pc you bought off the shelf (like a Dell, HP or something else)
