Hi, I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate from Teamos on a new acer aspire a515-51 i7 gen 8 and all works well apart from the VGA driver, I have no control over display brightness and the microsoft games pack will not run correctly as the graphics accelerator is not activated. Also the sleep option is not available. Acer only provide Win 10 drivers for this model. Any ideas?
Hi, the install is clean and I have tested it on a lenovo g505 64bit which works perfectly. My problem is the lack of a set of drivers for windows 7 on this new machine. I can install the Chipset, USB 3.0, Touchpad, LAN, WLAN from acer for Windows 10 and they work OK, but the VGA fails to install saying the Windows version is incorrect.
I want to install windows 7 on a similar Acer Notebook (Swift 3 with 8th generation i5) but I do not see any USB 3.0 drivers in the set of supplied Windows 10 drivers. Where did you get Windows 10 USB 3.0 drivers?
I found this USB 3.0 Driver which seems to work OK, "Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver_5.0.4.43_v2" As I am new here the forum will not let me post a link! but you can find it easily with Google hxxps://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22824/Intel-USB-3-0-eXtensible-Host-Controller-Driver-for-Intel-8-9-100-Series-and-Intel-C220-C610-Chipset-Family - or change hxxps to https
RE Working driver for KabyLake iGPU is in my tool (Windows 7 Image Updater -> \Windows7\Import\Windows\Setup\Scripts\Intel_GPU) Thanks for the information, I bought the computer new and without running it I exchanged the HDD for a new SSD and loaded Win 7 via USB with legacy. The computer is Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-89ED with an Intel® Core™ i7-8550U Processor and 8GB RAM. I will download your tool tonight and give it a try.
There seems to be a rule here about making more than 5 posts before being able to reply to a post that contains links!
Hi, I tried the driver from your link but got the message "This installation package is not supported by this processor type" My processor is KabyLake 8th Gen i7 8550U. Thanks anyway.
You will have to edit igdlh64.inf file change this Code: %iKBLULTGT2% = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5916 to this Code: %iKBLULTGT2% = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5917
I think I have problems - CPUZ gives the folowing info: CPU: Number of cores 4 (max 4) Number of threads 8 (max 8) Name Intel Core i5 8250U Codename Kaby Lake-U/Y Specification Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz Package (platform ID) Socket 1356 FCBGA (0x7) Chipset: Northbridge Intel Kaby Lake rev. 08 Southbridge Intel Coffee Lake-U/Y PCH rev. 21 Graphic Interface PCI-Express Memory Type DDR4 Memory Size 12 GBytes Channels Dual Memory Frequency 665.1 MHz (1:10) The Coffe Lake Southbridge USB ports on the notebook will then not be usable with Windows 7 - but what about Windows 8.1?
Hi, I tried the Win 10 drivers from Acer first, started with the chipset driver. Some of the drivers worked OK - they either install or they don't. after that I tried Intel for Win 7 drivers for my CPU type.
Gigabytes' motherboard utility will add them in natively for you. No messing with the binaries and it does all the .wim stuff for you. Tried and trusted.
