Since trying things in the activated Vista with the 2.0 BIOS SLIC, I have been getting a different error, I forgot. I remembered when I saw it again just now after trying with the new slmgr.vbs file... changed from "data is invalid" to "ActiveX component can't create object:'Scripting Dictionary'." Entire error reads: Script: C:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs Line: 18 Char: 1 Error: ActiveX component can't create object:'Scripting Dictionary' Code: 800A01AD Source: MS VBScript Runtime Error
Whoo-hoo! Ran regsvr32 scrrun.dll and it accepted the 2.1 SLIC! Am about to flash the modded BIOS... will report back!
********* happy freakin day!!! ************** YAY!!!!! I flashed the modded BIOS and Vista is activated!! But last night when I got this error I tried to register scrrun and it wouldn't work! Maybe replacing the slmgr.vbs did it! Giving you rep, MasterDisaster. Thanks for sticking with me... I had basically given up. You got me through it with this file and also your tip to run sfc /scannow. Many, many, heartfelt thanks! If you were here I'd buy you several of your favorite libations, then send you home with more.
