My WDP dual boot with 7 working fine on ProBook 4420s. WDP installed on VHD, and I do not have to shrink any partition an can be removed anytime.
question: how to restore default dualboot manager that was created by Windows 8? I edited it with EasyBCD from Windows 7 and It was turned to "old" dualboot menu. regards!
customize win8 bootloader Hello mdl-members, I have a dualboot win7/win8. At startup you get the nice new bootloader of win8. Im not the only one using this laptop, and the rest just wants to use win7, So what I like to do is: - Make win7 the default choice - Reduce the countdown time to 5 seconds.. - And I dont want to go back to the old bootloader How can I do this without messing everything up. Current setup- 1 harddisk, 3 partitions: win7 primary data logical win8 primary
Does that matter? W8 will still boot up fine.. with w8 bootloader you are booting Windows basicly Twice when you want to go i nto W7, so the old bootloader is a better solution. If you don't want to use the old bootloader (which is obviously faster..) you can just leave the Priority as it is but set W7 as Default (WDP should still be on top if you want to keep the new slow bootloader)
Is it possible to change the text in the Windows boot (eg Windows 7 to 8) or without EasyBDC, VistaBoot and to keep the dual boot WDP8.
Uninstall EasyBCD, in Windows 8, go to system > advanced system settings > , under Startup and Recovery > settings, and change the options there.
Sorry but, BS, he doesnt have to uninstall EasyBCD at all, afterall its just a GUI for bcdedit.exe with some additional extras All you have to do is change the Priority in EasyBCD so that WDP is on the top.
You can not change the Priority with msconfig (im not even sure why you explain how to get to msconfig if you can just type it while on the Startscreen or on the classic menu), setting as Default won't do anything he would want.
Do you guarantee that this will make the blue screen return with the option to select with the mouse which OS I want to start?
to restore win 8 boot screen, go to system properties click on "advanced system properties" then on advanced tab, under "Startup and Recovery" click on "Settings". Then you'll see "Default operating system" drop down menu, click on it and select "Windows Developer Preview" choose it. click "Ok" to exit out. Then the next time you restart your Pc the WDP boot menu will show up. Keep in mind that when you choose Windows 7 from the boot menu, your Pc will appear to be restarting. Which it is, but then it boots right into Win 7. When you click on WDP, it boots directly into Win 8
I solved my problems with dual boot manager, putting again the default dualboot manager of win 8 it took but got it.
