O yeah I use that one too , but I meant other way around DVD to AVI, 2 hours dvd format to around 700mb avi, the way axxo or fxg use.
Then you need Auto Gordian Knot and some codecks, I used K Lite packs. I did few rips couple of years ago and I'll tell you that the quality was sooo good, I couldn't tell the difference between aXXo's and mine. I'll check if I still got tutorial how to.
Converting to .avi will only give you the movie. No menus. You will lose quality. The files are smaller than the originals, so you shouldn't be surprised. You can keep the .VOB files and VLC can play them. Why not try Any DVD Converter.....It converts quickly and has a good quality of output files.
i am glad to contribute a little opinion. The dvd to avi is very good. It has great conversion speed and easy to handle.Wish you success doing conversion.
Convert X TO DVD is a great software for combining any movie format (avi, xvid, mkv, mp4, etc) with subtitles to produce a DVD. Very easy to use. The final file is in folder format after it burns to DVD. To store it on PC, one can either keep the folder or use dvd shrink to convert it into iso.
Magic DVD ripper rips in native unaltered mpeg2 (or converts into many other formats on the fly) and you can use anydvd to bypass any copy protection if needed. Simplest fastest ripper I have found yet that rips DVD video unaltered native MPEG2. You can choose to save audio in ac3-6 channel, etc. ....just 2 cents worth today guys.
DVDFab is used to crack a protected DVD, such as Avatar, Shutter Island... and almost all recently released films. I've tried that on Avatar and my PS3 can play it without flaw or mistake. But if you are asking for a converter, here are a few choices that I can recommend. Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate ImTOO Video Converter Ultimate Wondershare Video Converter Platinum Jobshare DVD To AVI Converter VSO ConvertXtoDVD Okoker All Video Converter&Burner Pro The softwares above are all familiar and easy to use
I've tried most of them. In my opinion, the one that gives the best balance of quality, ease of use, and variety of settings is StaxRip.
