I have just downloaded the update and start menu still don't change. when will it replace with the new one?
Not Windows 9. Microsoft said yesterday at Build that an upcoming update after Update 1 (Spring Update or whatever) will have a new Start Menu and will allow modern apps to run in windowed mode. They didn't say when but I guess it won't be too long until it is released. Having these apps in windowed is much more useful and important but the start menu looks great as well.
What? I don't get what you said.. I picked up a torrent from a site where x64 link is the same as ours, so I guess an x86 should be fine too.. But I'm not at home so can't check the link myself...
Hi all, I've just done a clean install with en_windows_8.1_with_update_x86_dvd_4065105.iso and no problems at all. 1. The watermark build still says 9600 - is that right? 2. Also there were about 8 updates ready to download from "Windows updates" I guess this is because of the gap between the ISO release and now? 3. The file name is rather long - is this how MS have officially named it? 4. Not much difference between this 8.1 and my other 8.1 fully updated PC.. well for a desktop user anyway!
Not true; Code: D:\Downloads\W81wUpdate\Windows.8.1.Multiple.Editions.Update>fciv en_windows_8.1 _with_update_x64_dvd_4065090-prathaprabhu.iso -sha1 // // File Checksum Integrity Verifier version 2.05. // 4652dc6ebfebe02c6a63e167c36e3faedfb93999 en_windows_8.1_with_update_x64_dvd_4065 090-prathaprabhu.iso
It's the cleanest and latest version you can find.. So yeah, it fully clean, directly from Microsoft, and it's 8.1 + Update 1.
1. Yes, it is 9600 build only. 2. They might be QFE (Quick Fix Engineering) fixes. 3. Yes, it is the official ISO name published on MSDN. 4. This update is mainly introduces features friendly to mouse and keyboard users.
