    Yes, but the updates are a bit bigger than just service packs, because service packs contain only bug/security fixes, while 8.1 and 8.1 Update contain also additional features and upgrades..

    But yes, it is the same general Windows version in al 3.

    Technically they've (R)eleased all three (T)o (M)anufacturing.
    Maybe they're just getting really good at it and they're showing off.

    What is difference between 8.1 multiple edition and professional VL?? can i convert multiple edition to VL or??

    mult edition has pro/core and can upgrade pro version to wmc.
    You can activate with KMS but doesn't have a KMS key installed by default

    VL version is just pro (no core vl)
    It comes with a spp package that sets the default key to the KMS key (gVLK)
    It cannot be upgraded to WMC.

    VL is slightly smaller than multi, but only by a little bit.

    What is the difference between retail and Pro VL ?
    I'm noob to these things. please enlighten me.

    Lol...;) Your superfetch (assuming you have not done something strange like turn it off) has to reorganize. Takes one or two boots, sometimes.

    I dind't install it yet but i heard you need VL key to activate it for 180 days
