That MS webpage is full of crap, I mean you can get infected by a virus on any OS that is supported! Just another scare tactic by MS in hoping people will upgrade to 8, when most will stay with what they are comfortable with, be it XP or 7.
steven4554, you are entirely right, it's just crap, is just a way for people to believe that they should dish XP in favor or their rubbish tablet os 8, I know of people who are using XP with SP3 with no updates and with zero problems, if XP is just so bad why is it the second most used operating system, 7 has more share market because, they stop selling licenses for xp, and newer PC come with 7 with no option of installing XP, of course, corporates with not spend money on removing 7 and installing XP, that's the reason why 7 is catching up
In relation to 8, people really just want new staff, it doesn't matter if will make things worst or if it is an extremely bad product, as long as it is new, for the general perception is good, it's like the cell phones business.
Nope, I left XP in the dust several years ago. I used to think that nothing would pull me away from XP (especially after seeing what a mess Vista was). But after trying Windows 7 for a while, I loved it and haven't gone back to XP since. Now I'm using Windows 8 which in my opinion is even better then 7!
Well I believe XP x64 support might end in 2015 when Server 2003 does. They share the same code base (NT 5.2.3790). Even if it does end when XP x32 does, someone will hack it to install Server 2k3 updates.
Not a dead horse to all not every company can afford to update every time M$ brings out a new os, millions of companies all over the world still use XP we may not be talking corporate companies but real normal basic companies whose software still works for there business but the OS still works.
My statement referred to the post above it. Hacking the XP kernel just to get another year of updates that may not even run correctly? I doubt any company will do that.
