I fell for the English (World) trick... tested it in a VM... Apparently the crap that was spread was... 1. Install with English (World) selected... 2. Complete install... install and configure your OS until done.. 3. Flip the region back to English (US) LMAO.. Once you flip the region back... all those "invalid" icons download and Windows will "bloat" itself again.. It was all a bunch of BS... Sounded good in theory... but again.. disappointing to say the least
out of boredom i have actually tested it against 11 26020.1000 and nothing gets reinstalled but i always first thing i do is to remove usosvc from svchost so updates are paused.
What part of run "Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers" have you not understood? Nothing gets re-installed or uninstalled as a package. All that happens is UWP app provisioning gets broken for your profile. Whether you disable/remove USO doesn't change the fact the packages still exist on the system. Changing the region back to a normal one, means UWP provisioning is restored to working order, and it relinks the found apps to your desktop.
apps on disk but not installed aren't the same thing as apps downloaded automatically after the first reboot...
