I am going to make a prediction: You've used RT7 Lite to customize your Windows 7 image, and removed the Microsoft drivers from the list of scanner drivers. Yes?

If thats the case how come my webcam (made in china) has the same problem? I did not use RT7 lite, did a clean install of ISO with SP1 and my windows won't find the damn driver:confused: I was thinking that the webcam was broken (even though it did work before SP1) but now I'm wondering o_O
Anyway, I beleive it has to do with those two folders that he deleted

    Cheers

I'm sorry...I didn't see the part where he deleted folders in the Driver Repository. I had exactly the same issue some time ago, but my own problem was that the Microsoft scanner drivers must remain in the repository.

DVASS: Check to see if you have the following folders in the repository:

    wsdscdrv.inf_amd64_neutral_47406488f9e8d5b8
    sti.inf_amd64_neutral_9d9a7113099a28a2

If these are missing, I'd be willing to zip them up and make them available. These are for 64 bit architecture, but I also have an x86 installation on my laptop if required. It's probably a long shot, but we'll give it a go if you like.

    Hello Belarathon,
thanks a lot for the interest on the thread.

Listen I'm having the x86 version and are installed already in my FileRepository directory.

    I'm having: sti.inf_x86_neutral_6a74c91c1f723826 and wsdscdrv.inf_x86_neutral_93205116e7f7a608.
Sure there are for the scanning devices.

I have to tell you that ibeqa has right regarding other devices that still working on my system (e.g Built-in iSight camera and a Canon PowerShot SX210 IS camera).

The only folder is missing and I don't know where to find is cnq4809.inf_x86_xxxxxxxxxx (according to my records) and which I deleted...

    Regards,
    VAD

I found this driver, its for lide210 but it has those files that you need. Try it first as app if it does not work try manually (you can extract this app and you'll have three folders, one of which is called driver, there you have two security catalogs cnq.4809a and cnq4809b plus cnq4809.ini file).

    ibeqa,
I'm very thankful about the interest you show on finding a solution to the problem above (my problem)
I did all what's you wrote.
The system does not recognize the 210 drivers. (I did the manual installation from the extracted folder)

The sd68-win-lide210-17%5E_0%5E_2-ejs.exe had a transfer problem but I found it and download it again with no lack.
I'm still trying because I believe that maybe I'm wrong regarding the cnq4809.ini, maybe its not the actual filename, I have also a cnq4807 which I believe that is the real LIDE200 filename.
I'm checking just to delete all the instances in Registry with that filename...

    Talk to you soon again,
    VAD

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but since it's obvious to me that you're trying to fix your system by not formatting and doing a clean install, why don't you try a repair install?

It's an unadvertised option with 7, but it is there... stick the install disc in while running windows, click "upgrade" and it will do a repair install right on top of your existing install... somethings will go back to default and some drivers (that doesn't come with 7) maybe lost, but everything will be back to what it's supposed to be

This kind of problem is annoying. I had a similar problem with my webcam (could not find proper driver and win7 could not find it neither). I needed a week to find it - finally:mad:

This could sound strange, in the current situation when you go to Device manager, your scanner should be listed there (with a question mark).
Now, did you try disabling internet connection and WU, unplug scanner, uninstall driver from device manager, restart computer, install latest driver, plug in scanner, restore internet connection and WU settings???

Yes its listed, unless I choose to uninstall it (right click etc, when tried for many times to reinstall it back again)

    cheers

try it without internet connection and WU (that's why it reinstalled). WIN7 is designed to find drivers automatically but without internet and WU can't do it.

Don't you think its a bit risky ?
I believe are not only the drivers (don't come with) the problem.
    Maybe its some settings also.

    What if I install Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 ?
