    Hello,
This is my first attempted to install Windows 8.1 Pro on a Toshiba L50t-A PSKLJU-043039 Notebook computer I just got for my mother. I know this sounds like a dumb question, but should I use

    Pro WMC
    Pro WMC KMS-Activated
    Pro N VL
    Pro N VL KMS-Activated

When I use the Windows 8.1 Pro WMC KMS-Activated, I get the following error:

If I use Pro N VL will this be activated or would I have to use the KMS-Activated option? Does Windows 8.1 Pro WMC version for the Notebook version. I'm use to my desktop computer, so please excuse me for my ignorance.
    Thank you.
    David

Are you using the latest v3 version?
There has been a long-standing install.esd problem that I believe I've finally fixed in the v3.

No, but I'll be getting it now. :) Will this enable me to finally do a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro WMC? I've been getting errors the last two times I attempted. Can I install 8.1 Pro WMC version on my mother's new Toshiba Notebook, or do I have to install the N version? I'm not to sure what the N version means. Last question, if I install the 8.1 Pro WMC version, will it be activated or to I have to install the KMS-Activated version ? Thank you murphy78, you are the best! :) :) :)

@murphy78: Do you talk about that failure when using original Setup in conjunction with ESD?

Yes but it doesn't just occur with the original setup program.
It also occurs with the dism exports, which leads me to believe it's some sort of memory problem with winpe.
limiting the amount of memory available with bcdedit truncatememory seems to have solved it in my tests, but who knows?

Thanks murphy78! I was able to install Windows 8.1 Pro WMC. Can anyone tell me what the N installations are for?
    Thank You.

N versions have no media apps like music player, video player, or codecs associated with those things.
