ESET Smart Security

    Thanks for the responses. I will now clear up my specs etc .

    I have Virgin Media 10 mB. It will average 9 down, 0.40 up.

    Before I installed ESET Smart Security it was normal. After I installed it I got the speedtest I show in my first post. Therefore I automatically thought it was ESET. I uninstalled it and took a speedtest. My ping immediately dropped from 530 to 22. I then went on to install NOD32. This shot my ping straight back up. I uninstalled that and again normal.

    I am guessing it is ESET conflicting with something.

    I appreciate your ongoing help and support.

    i stopped using ess myself. i had way to many issues even when running vista and they were never really fixed. even over at wilder where the eset forum is we are not alone in all these issues. i wish they would fix it its a great av

    So, may I ask which is the light-weight and most UNsystem resource guzzling AV? I need one fast...

    The best AV is between your ears IMHO

    Been running without AV for about a year and no viruses at all, downloaded avast and nothing found. Anything suspicious gets uploaded to virustotal.com

    If you REALLY need an AV, use Avast!
