I have an XFX 780i board and 2xATI 5770 cards and was wondering if the BIOS can be flashed to the HP Blackbird so I can use Crossfire? AWDFlash 8.94 says the BIOS is not compatible and 8.65 hangs at "save the current BIOS" prompt. If I can get this working, it will save me from investing in an ASUS Rampage Formula x48 board so I can use the current Q9550 CPU and DDR2 ram. Any help you can provide would be awesome, thanks.
Hi all is there ever going to be a modded XFX 790i p10 bios :< XFX 790i ULTRA (BIOS ID 6A61MB03) P10 bios needed Would be great if someone could get this done I am currently using the stock P09 is this the best to be on atm ? any info much appreciated. I have a q6600 with a gtx260 790i xfx board and 4gb of ram win7 64bit if that helps... Thanks Binksy
Hi Binksy, I still do intend to finish the XFX P10 BIOS, I have an XFX 790i board heading my way shortly. It will most likely be completed, tested and uploaded in the next 4-5 weeks, depending on when I get the board. Not too much longer...
Unfortunately the XFX 790i board has been delayed until the end of July. Will update the thread once I have it in my hands.
Thats awesome hope you receive it in good health and get this sorted would be great many thanks for trying.
Update: The XFX 790i board has been running with the modified P10 BIOS since 07/24/11 without issue .
Installed this today and so far so good. Nice 1. I can confirm this p10 XFX 790i bios does install correctly without any issues so far...
If I understand correctly the last mentioned mod is to enable crossfire on 790i. I have been searching for any info on getting LLC for the XFX. Do you know if this is simply a matter of flashing to the EVGA bios (Considering both cards are reference and both use Award-Phoenix bios) or if there is a hardware difference? This is the only thread I've found discussing these bioses.... so hopefully I am not hijacking the topic, but if I am, I'm fully a newb here, just tell me where I should stick my post...
The new P10 will not allow 16gb of mem but the P09 I have will. Should that be? (Fully understand if not known...)
I have no idea why that happens - the 790i only officially supports up to 8GB of RAM, so if you got 16 GB to work at all I'm impressed!
Motherboard EVGA nForce 780i SLI (132-CK-NF78-B4) Hi Guys, I have the Motherboard EVGA nForce 780i SLI (132-CK-NF78-B4) with the HP BIOS version; "Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = 6.1.7601.17514 Or SMBIOS 2.4". I did see some of the instructions but is anyway someone can show me the appropriate steps to take for the update. I tried before and it tells me that is not the correct number. I have performed bios updates before with ease but never multiple steps or how to save the bios. All I want to do is to update the CPU to the Core 2 Extreme and maybe put 2 GTX295s. I would hate to change the motherboard. I'm not really impressed by the new ones that have come out especially the LGA 2011 with default rate between 25%-30%. Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Hello! I have an issue with flashing my BIOS: I have the 790i Ultra SLI but it was made by EVGA for Alienware. It's up to P06 and I need to update it. BIOS info: Current BIOS version: 2.053.D6 Current BIOS date: 6/25/2008 Current BIOS ID: 6161MB04 Flash ROM type: W39v08A Flash ROM size: 1024 MB BIOS manufacturer: NVidia Now I looked at the list of BIOS IDs and didn't find 6161MB04 on there. I'd like to force flash but I want to use the right one. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
