Thanks. When I did that the supervisor asked for a one time fee of $150.

problem is the bios version uses new algorithm only.. so it needs the paid non free to the public key generated.

sorry it doesnt reset with recovery, older ones did (2009 or so). try factory mode.. just maybe.

i guess dell changed policies in past 5 yrs.. sorry

ok so your case might be able to be resolved with older bios version and forced bios recovery.

what is the model and bios version on the screen A##?
also the error on boot says the service tag ######-#### the bold tells me which type it needs.

It's my first time seeing protection like this. One of our son-of-law own Dell laptop. He wanted from me, format his HD and reinstall new OS. But its not booting from Windows Disc. I pressed F12 and entered BIOS. I tried change boot order. But it asking Administrative password. I need it ASAP.

Read page one of this thread you need to downgrade bios. Also you need to tap the F12 key a few times instead of just holding it down. Seems to be the same with the F2 key to enter the BIOS.

Of course if you New The Password so you either need to ask your son in law if he knows password or you need to downgrade bios.

    Hello everyone,

So I've been reading around here for some hours now and I found out that the 1f5a is not supported by all these
password tools/site/hash thing. So my question now is, can I downgrade to an older bios and recover the password?
Which method would i need to use in order to get it working? There are multiple ones descriped here.

Or do I need to pay something to get it working?
Is there another option to boot from usb without knowing the password?

I have a latitude e6510 with the 1f5a in the tag.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi guys,

I'm the new one on this forum and I've already read all about resetting bios master password on my machine (Dell Precision M6400). I'm on the step when I should downgrade bios version in order to go to the site bios generator

However, my service tag is 3N0D5S1-1D3B (that's why I need to downgrade BIOS).

Can you help me with some quick instruction how to downgrade bios, please?

    Best regards!
