You don’t need to enter a product key when begin doing a clean installation of Windows 10 build 10240 after upgrade . Durring clean install when first asked, you can leave the product key blank and click the Skip button. Later, when install finishes and you get the “It’s time to enter the product key” screen, you can click “Do this later”. You will be permanently activated when you go online after that
The Windows 10 installer collects hardware The Windows 10 installer setup.exe - upgrade, make genuine test & activate in same time
If you are genuine via DazLoader on Windows 7 and upgrade officially via reservation on Wednesday, will you be able to activate Windows 10? The FAQ says non-genuine W10 can reserve and get a 30 day trial, I'm just not sure if DazLoader will continue to keep Windows 7 genuine through the upgrade process long enough to activate 10. Gut says no, but I don't know if Windows 10 will pull that information prior to upgrading or what. Figured I'd ask since people are getting official pushes early it seems. [edit] Obviously you can just activate non-legitimately anyway, I'm just curious knowledge wise about the official path.
Yep. permanently activated - for now on the three machines...I think that all the neighbors come to me to install them. We'll be all legal soon there and here at MDL and wider does not know what will be for millions of PCs runnin in China
I´m Insider and today started the download for us from M$ and I´m upgrading my legit Windows 8.1 to 10 installed on a normal HDD drive. So I have a doubt. In a few days I will receive my new SSD drive. So I want to make a clean install of Windows 10 on this drive. Is there a way or workaround to use my license on this clean install, or must I install first Windows 8 and again make an upgrade to make later a clean install? Isn´t there a way to backup my license and copy it to the fresh installed windows 10?
why is everyone upgrading from a daz managed windows to mantain activation? I thought it works the same upgrading from a "genuine" kms activated one (read microsoft toolkit) Can anyone confirm? edit: someone just opened a new thread about this, read "Win 8.1 Pro (ms toolkit) upgrade = activated?"
hi! i've got a windows 8.1 single language when i will do the upgrade to windows 10 i will get windows 10 pro or what? also after the upgrade if i want to make clean install what should i do ? and thanks
In case you have doubts, go with Daz recommendation and wait for more info after 7/29. Guess there are enough guinea pigs out there, that will reportsqueak their outcome.
