I think I did offline activation via Skype then used my personal WMC key that I got for free from Microsoft when they were giving them away through emails. So my WMC key shouldn't be splattered all over the web nor blacklisted. I never gave it away. EDIT: Setup never asked for key, I wasn't even watching setup, it just after a while gave the error about failing to validate (I guess current) key. I ran setup from .ISO inside win 8.1. I will try to run setup again now... EDIT2: I didn't change original key to BBBBs, that's what that app showed. EDIT3: Without doing any changes (maybe I rebooted windows I'm not sure), my second attempt at install upgrade from ISO within Win 8.1 WMC seems to be passing through, I'm at the stage where it is asking me to confirm Windows Media Player will be uninstalled, that means key verification must have passed this time around.
Not sure if in the thread yet, too lazy to read all posts, but if you are having trouble activating from an activated upgrade: When in Windows 10 after upgrading using the MediaCreationToolx64/32, delete ALL the stuff in /Windows/SoftwareDistribution/ folder. BITS and Windows Update services MUST be stopped before you wipe the folder contents My Windows 10 Pro was not activating and I was reading the Microsoft forums and found out this "solution" helped a lot of "legit" windows users After a reboot it got activated.
I try to update my Windows 8.1, activated with Microsoft Toolkit and got the same message. Try 3 our 4 times without success. See my post hxxp://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/63095-The-configuration-did-not-validate-the-product-key?p=1100566&viewfull=1#post1100566
Installed Windows 7 Professional on a clean notebook. Activated it with Daz Loader 2.2.2 Rebooted Upgraded to Windows 10 Pro withouth problem Activation FAILED I needed to use a kms server activation. What do I done wrong??
Tried to install win10 trough windows update using the force CMD thing and it always gives me faillure after downloading it. Can someone help me out? I also have the win 10 iso burned. Can I update it with the dvd clicking in "Update" and not having issues later when doing a clean install or updateing with windows update is a MUST for future clean installs?
when update fails with the cmd thing you need to delete the total content of C:\windows\softwaredistibution\downloads After you do the cmd thing again your W10 should start immediately. This can happen 2 or 3 times
Thank you paul, but I already deleted the contetnt in that folder 2 times and just after that, force the CMD thing. it didnt work Can i try to update in win 8.1 with the iso i created? Or it MUST be through windows update in order to do a clean install after?
I'm using Windows 8.1 crack with MTK / KMSPico, now upgrade to Windows 10. question: time for windows activated? With Windows 7 crack = Windows Loader, after upgrade Windows 10, time for windows activated = forever! and, with Windows 8, time = ? 6 month? forever? sr for my bad english, and tks
To give you guys update on my upgrade attempts: =============================== 1. I had Windows 8.1 Pro WMC x64 first installed as pro activated via skype (I can't remember what type of key) then installed WMC feature and activated with my personal Microsoft given free WMC key which gave me permanent activation. 2. Downloaded Windows 10 Pro x64 ISO via MediaCreationToolx64.exe from Microsoft website 3. First attempt at upgrade after 5 minutes gave error failed to validate key 4. Second attempt passed this point didn't ask for key, downloaded updates, asked for confirmation that WMC will be removed and installation continued then failed. 5. Third attempt passed all that and went into reboot but I believe I didn't have enough disk space even though installer never complained, it failed at one of reboots with errors 0xC1900101 - 0x20000C, in SAFE_OS PHASE failed at command APPLY_IMAGE OPERATION and installer itself reverted everything back to Windows 8.1 WMC After it was done I rebooted into windows. 6. I read about deleting SoftwareDistribution and catroot2 folders with commands in admin CMD:net stop wuauserv net stop cryptSvcnet stop bitsnet stop msiserver ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.oldThen rebooted windows. 7. Fourth attempt at upgrade (I also made sure I had 30GB free space this time) everything passed, Windows 10 upgraded successfully! Upgrade takes very long time. Just final installation took over 2 hours so beware. (Don't have ssd) Whole time I was connected to internet. Windows 10 Pro is immediately activated and genuine and my key has changed as reported by apps like Nirsoft ProduKey or ShowKeyPlus. Who knows maybe I can use this same key in the future, will save it. I don't know if any of the steps are necessary, that was just how I did it. Overall long but successful and *permanently* activated upgrade.
im trying to update from a win 7 64bit en US to a win 10 64bit En Gb but it keeps on failing when i try to update, it says windows installation has failed what to do???
If I upgrade my Windows 8.1 Pro WMC to Windows 10 Pro. ¿I can then do a clean install? ¿I can use my original key to install?
So, everything is fine. Just finished upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, which is activated, and works fine at the first moment. Only small question: After 1 year, do I have to buy a license or enter product key?
so I've got a question. If we update from genuine 8.1 to windows 10, what happens to the win8 key? Can we use the "same" key to do a clean 8.1 AND win10 install? Or after updating, our key can only be used for win10? What if I update from 8.1 to win10. Then I want to do a clean install of 8.1?
