We have said this a long time ago... Win 10 is a free OS. Now what are you talking around here about 10 that is your business.
oh my god guys, i just updated to 10 through windows update and it was fine, i rebooted and windows 10 was activated (the key was a generic one somehow, and not my win 8 key anyway i was told i could do a clean install after that. Well i did and it asked me for serial wich i ignored. now i cant activate it with my win 8 key. what the hell did i do wrong? Any solution??
wait even if the key showing on win 10 is a generic one? should i have change to my win8 key after the win10 update before the clean install? I did all procedures like i've been told to. i dont get this... damn
Win 8 or Win 7 keys can not be used in Windows 10. The machine hardware id is used to activate on clean install after upgrades. The servers are getting hit hard. Just wait for it to activate
No. Wait. Servers are getting requests like crazy (we're only 1 day after launch). It will be activated automatically, give it some time.
One question: I have heard that upgrading from Windows 7 with Daz loader to Windows 10 still keeps the activation. Is the same true for Windows 8.1 that has been activated using MS Toolkit or KMSPico?
I had Windows 8.1 and Office 2013 permanently activated via phone. However, after upgrading to Windows 10, both products are listed as not activated. Shouldn't they stay activated?
No. After 1 year, even if you have a system that right now qualifies for a free upgrade, you would have ti pay to get Windows 10.
the one year is like a special at your local store. Win10 has a special offer that will allow you to get it free as long as you get it within 1 year. After that 1 year the special is over. Win10 is yours forever, so long as you obtain it during the special offer during that 1 year. It is yours to keep for the Lifetime of the device you installed it on. IF you buy a new computer or put one together, you cannot however take that win10 with you. It is free forever only on the machine you originally installed it to. Again, if you do not take advantage of the free offer within 1 year, you lose your chance to get a free windows 10. So if you have 5 computers with win7sp1 or win8.1 with updates, you can have a free windows 10 on each of them, if you install Win10 within that 1 year period on each. It is a terribly difficult concept to understand, I know. When as MS ever given us a free OS? Win10 is the first on their terms. Many over the years have had all their windows free by other means, but not by MS simply giving it away.
we already have one. its called KMS for now. Hard to tell what changes MS will make to the system between now and then.
There are several tools called KMS. Can you give me the specific name or a link? *It's like a never ending battle between MS and us.
When online with that machine, wait, it will do all automatically. MS Activation Servers are that over-whelmed, they do not respond sometimes. FYI: >>10 Million Activations in 24 hrs .
MBR Windows 7 upgrade today I tried upgrading from Windows 7 Pro on a MBR disk with BIOS "legacy" boot enabled: I upgraded Windows 10 Pro on a second partition with a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro with no problems - no additional partitions (reserved) were created and it's still MBR! the strange thing is that it kept the Windows 7 boot loader I got my main Windows 7 Pro installed on the first partition. anyway it all works perfectly! So upgrades with MBR disks are OK
