Well, I just asked in case someone knows. Maybe I'm gonna check it out myself and report the results here.
OP, this is regarding your question #7: Not sure about WIN7 Enterprise, but I had a institutional MAK activated Win8.1 Enterprise, from which I upgraded to Windows 10 Enterprise RTM, and Win10 was not activated. Said I need a new key to activate Win10 enterprise. I don't think Win7 enterprise will be any different.
Since WZOR leaked today those releases, can someone make a simple tutorial explaining: how to upgrade correctly, how to burn and clean install, how to activate and the diferences between PRO and ENTERPRISE please. Thank you!
Stupid me should have searched the web first: Native VHD boot doesn't support upgrading the Windows version.
(1. Can I do a clean install: Yes but you have to upgrade first then you can do a clean ISO install.) After upgraded Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 RTM, how to do a clean ISO install here? Could s.o help me? In fact I am not clear at that point. Is it mean that boot from USB of Windows 10 RTM and Format HDD then follow on screen procedure? Please elaborate. Thanks!
Exactly. NOTE: This is not mandatory, you can also use the upgraded system, fresh install is more the cherry on top.
1. Is it possible to win7 enterprise -> (manage) with mtk toolkit (daz wont work right?)-> win10 enterprise? (autoupdates suck) 2. win7pro -> daz > win10pro -> switch to UEFI -> reinstall win10pro possible?
Can someone clarify the activation status for Insiders? MS' blog entry says, although an RTM release, for Insiders 10240 is just another release and during the programm the participants get pre-release software that expire after a new build is published. However, Insiders have now a permanently activated edition. If that is intentional, why? Will the next Insider build re-add an evaluation timer?
I have one Vista OEM license for PC. Vista was preinstaled and most likely activated - it was installed only once by OEM partner. Soon after buying the PC I switched to Windows 7 and did not use OEM key. The PC is broken since 2013 and can not be fixed (motherboard and graphic card died). Can I use this Vista OEM key on other PC (completely different hardware) after calling Microsoft, telling them the PC I had OEM license died, upgrading from Vista to 7 on other PC and then upgrading it to Win10?
I'm hoping someone can clarify this for me. I see in the OP that they mention activation's are frozen at the moment. Which I suppose would make sense with the issue I'm having with a friends HP Stream 7 tablet. It was running Windows 8.1, then I upgraded it from the OEM image to Windows 10 Home. The upgrade went through successfully, but it failed to activate. This tablet never had a Windows 10 tech preview or any MS account that is registered as an insider on it. So is the reason it won't activate is because all activation's are frozen for normal non-insider upgrades?
