I wanted to find out if drivers installed on Windows 7 would work in Windows 10, so I did an experiment by upgrading from Windows 7 to 10. After the upgrade, I found out that all the display drivers and wireless network drivers were removed by Windows 10. I managed to reinstall Intel HD graphics to correct display errors, but I could no longer get switchable graphics to work. Windows 10 just refused to use the AMD Radeon 6000M series graphics card no matter how many times I removed the drivers, rebooted and reinstalled the drivers. I'll try to see if I can fix the problem and post an update. Update: Display driver is now working after updating using Windows 10 update, but now switching graphics to either card is more tedious than before. Manufacturer software also does not work. (Switchable graphics Fn key does not work.)
I have a question that has probably been asked a million times or less. I just bought a new laptop with windows 10 home. Can I upgrade it to win10 enterprise with build 1511 x64 CYGiSO without doing a clean install? Will you direct me to a forum thread where I can follow instructions to do so? Thanks so much. I haven't had any luck searching for an answer.
That's all my private tracker (FSC) has on hand. There is WINDASS - Windows 10 Enterprise (x64) - DVD (English) [MSDN] available as well.
@lynchknot 1. No need to depend on any private trackers, as most of the Windows ISOs can be directly downloaded from Microsoft. 2. What is the currently installed version of Windows? Can you please post a screenshot of the output of winver? 3. It can be possible to directly upgrade to Enterprise SKU provided you've a qualified SKU installed.
Hey guys, long time no see. Here is the thing, Ive been running an activated copy of Win7 x64 Ultimate on my PC since the day it came out; when Win 10 was released I upgraded and test drove it for a couple of weeks, I did not like it and since I didnt have a DX12 capable GPU there was no point on keeping it so I uninstalled Win10, returned to Win7 and was quite happy about it. Fast forward a few years later and I just bought me a new GPU (same old hardware as before) but I now want to take advantage of its DX12 capabilities so, what would be the road to take? Upgrade and then clean install? Would it be safe to assume that I can still activate Win10 since I still have the exact same hardware (except for GPU) I had when I activated Win 10 back when it was released? what do I have to do? Ive read something about saving some Windows Entitlement blah blah blah file. Thanks
The previously established HWID should still work, exchanging the GPU should not matter but last time i've checked was at the beginning of the promotion of the free HWID for all win 7 SP1/8.1 users.
Is this HWID some kind of file I need to save somewhere, if so, where is it located? Since this is a gaming PC so a clean install has been long overdue but should I do an upgrade install first or should I jump directly to a clean install ?
It's saved at MSFT servers. A simple clean install would be enough, just skip the questions to insert a key.
Is there any particular version I should install or avoid? I see you have Windows 10 Final 1703 RS2 Build 15063 on your sig, is that the lastest official version or a homebrewed?
Is homebrew released in hundreds of iso's? No homebrew allowed on MDL, they all are official MSDN/VLSC ISO's. And yes, 15063 is the last official build.
