Thanks for your replies! @Tito: no real need to stick to N, but as I don't like WMP I was selecting N @mehdibleu: I was not aware that 'Win10_1607_N_English_x64.iso ' is only HomeN and ProN, was hoping it includes EnterpriseN as well. Most likely the activation was not working because I used an Enterprise-key (also the one given by you) for a Home / PRO iso-file. Currently downloading 'en_windows_10_enterprise_n_version_1703_updated_june_2017_x64_dvd_10720924.iso' - hopefully this is working! Update: The image seems fine and installs, but after reboot I get an '0xC1900101 - 0x20017'-Error during SAFE_OS Phase ....
sorry dude, but depending that applications you make use you can have issues in N versions (without WMP)
Thanks! A lot of people seem facing this '0xC1900101 - 0x20017'-Error during SAFE_OS Boot Phase' , but no clear solutions are given ...
I have heard that Smart Phones, and other devices will NOT be recognized with the N version. My suggestion if you don't like WMP is to install something else, and not use WMP rather than using the N version of Windows.
No you can't upgrade from Enterprise N to Enterprise without loosing your apps, by doing that you will have to reinstall apps.
Hello MDL, I am unable to update windows as I am getting an error code 0x80070426 at windows update site which is an activation error even though dialogs say it's activated.
Well I appreciate the help from you guys but now my laptop still will not update due to this activation error: error code 0x80070426
So no one has a solution for my problem? Should I revert back to the original "home" version of windows 10? Is that even possible since I deleted windows old?
Looks like AV is interferring (might be Defender). In Settings / Local Host Bypass Tab try to switch to TAP .
I don't see any tabs in the settings dialog. Also, it says inject rather than eject at first attempt. **edit** oh you mean the defender security center settings dialog. I don't see that specific tab. I opened defender antivirus but that's disabled as i'm using a different AV.
